Good post going through the basics of the tuning process.
Decent results for the second revision of a stage 1 tune.
note: UK dyno operators calculate back to bhp instead of using whp.

Cool! Looks like stage 2 requires a decat dp. Same thing Mission Performance is doing.

I know there is the big thread going in the F30 forum, but wanted to see if any M240i folks had gotten this flash done and had some feedback as to how it performs on a F22.

I'm still weighing the pros and cons of doing this vs say a Dinan stage 1. From my understanding, this would be a preferred solution as it reconfigures the software rather than fooling the stock software with modified sensor data being sent.

It's good stuff, BUt, you might want to hold out for Dinan's flash tunes

I was told by a knowledgeable source in July that Dinan's flash tune was due to be released in the spring. That's the tune I'm waiting for, as my car still has 43 months to go on its warranty.

For me, the combination of the Dinan tune's power increase along with its not affecting BMW's warranty is a no-brainer. If my car was out of warranty, I might be looking further afield, but probably not unless there was a compelling reason to choose something else (and that something else would definitely not be more power). As always in these matters, YMMV.

I got it done on my F20 back in August, posted my results here
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1525708

Alex is doing an updated tune for me right now based on the latest BMW software which will hopefully get rid of some of the weird manual box shifting behaviour ie. rev hang and post shift bog.
Which was present stock, but more noticable with the tune.

Are those all engine ECU issues or is he touching the transmission ECU (if there is one on a manual)?

On Facebook they said they plan to release Flash tunes for M(2,3,4,5) Q1-19, then soon after to follow with B engines.
Just because it is Dinan doesn't mean there will be any kind of warranty like their piggyback Elite tuner, example the Sport piggyback has no warranty, BUT F;K IT, go FASt!

It's BMW programming.
https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show...php?p=20771181

Apparently BMW's latest update fixes it

Resurrecting this thread/topic to get opinions on ECU programmable tune like BootMod3 or piggyback like JB4 or Dinan. Many tuners in Germany say the B58 engine has outpaced the piggybacks and ECU programmed with good map is the way to go.

Any opinions?
