m235 new owner question

i love this car.. i wish it was a tad louder but the handling is amazing.

two questions:

Why is the radio station changing so annoying.. i wish i could just press up/down like in my x5

why is that when im listening to the radio the buttons affect the navigation and do not tune to the pre-select radio..

when in sport mode - can i get the car to still autostop when i come to a light?

You can not get Auto Start Stop when in Sport. It's automatically deactivated (even though the light [near the start/stop button] does not come on)

Which buttons affect the navigation when you are listening to the radio?

Glad you're enjoying it - I am liking mine more every day as well.

Can't answer the first two, but the answer is no on Sport or Sport + with the auto stop - at least mine doesn't seem to do it ever in those modes.

The turn in is definitely quick - one of my favorite parts of the car.

I think the stop/start is aimed at saving a tiny bit of petrol - my guess is that BMW thought if you were in Sport/Sport +, you could give a shit about saving any of that.

I didn't get the tech package, so not sure what the differences are between the two - but mine brings up a list of the stations that it can "find" and you can use the iDrive wheel to cycle through them, or the little joystick button on the steering wheel.

Funny enough - if you use the steering wheel, you will see the different stations in the tach area, but not on the iDrive screen. The same is true if you use the iDrive wheel to cycle though the stations - comes up on iDrive, but not in the tach area. Not bad really - just kind of funny to me...

You can change the radio stations using the left/right button to the right of the preset buttons.
