I just got a quote for Cdn$2750 for full front and rockers and 400/both doors or Cdn$5500 for full coverage! Did prices shoot up in one year or is this just Vancouver?

Living in Canada costs more. Our currency alone is a difference of 30-35% more. I think think $2000-$2500 is about right. I got another quote in Toronto and it was about the same price. I think it comes down to 2 things, the Installer and material.

What was the name of the shop? That sounds like a good deal, might take my car there!

Tint World off Miramar road in San Diego. Probably wouldn't recommend it. They tinted my windows and didnt do a very good job. I've had to go back once and will probably end up back there again because tint is still fked up

Not cheap, yes you're right about that BUT cheaper than a repaint.
A couple of weeks back got unexpectedly caught in a sand storm and the only damage was a pitted windshield. That paint was protected abs spared because of the clear bra. The radiators and coolers are now nice and shiny, just like when the car was new. |

New member and owner here. Got a CPO a few weeks back and the dealer was quoting absurd values for some random clear coat coverage. My question is, how do I know if the previous owner had already applied a clear coat protection on the vehicle?

You'll be able to see the edge of PPF somewhere on the installation. If you're referring to a ceramic or other sealant, you'll be able to see how water behaves on the paint surface. Without receipts you won't know for sure. The dealer is rarely the best choice for this type of service, in price & execution - talk to a local respected detailer.
