Comfort Access
Has anyone been able to open the trunk with their foot?
BMWUSA says we have this feature. I've tried on two cars at our dealership (mine and coworkers) along with the shop foreman and can't get this feature to work. I called BMWUSA also and the 2 Series specialist confirmed that it should have this feature and they'll have to verify 100% for me.

Posted about this the other day, but I'm in the same boat (http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=958969). Tried it when I took delivery didn't work. Two sales guy also tried it, same thing. Read the manual on trunk opening no mention, saw it under the Comfort Access section. Tried again, doesn't work.
Golf season is fast approaching, I need this feature after a round! |

Sorry, my bad didn't see your thread! I'll keep you posted if BMW gets back to me.
I had the guy on the phone laughing because he said this is where I'd refer you to the dealer but you are a dealer. I don't care too much, but it's a cool party trick and may be useful when doing some shopping. (Mod you can merge this thread)

Well, here's the sad update:
"Comfort Access" does offer "Hands-free Trunk Lid;" however, your M235i must be equipped with a "Power Tailgate" to access this portion of the feature. At this time, BMW doesn't offer a "Power Tailgate" option for 2 Series models.

This is the first time I've ever gotten a car at initial release. Is it typical to have surprises like this, HK, etc? Not that trunk auto open is a deal breaker (it would be on an SUV I'd never get one without) but you'd think they'd know what was actually on the car and be able to represent it accurately.

This is getting ridiculous with this and the H/K. I've used the foot-trunk-opening mechanism on other BMW's and it worked fine. This one just doesn't have it.
So, now on to this thing again... let's get an email chain going to BMW for remediation just like H/K. Who do we e-mail? |

ok... hope it still works even if you have the 16 HK speakers going inside ... oh i mean 12 :-D
Ah... maybe that's what it is... they removed 4 speakers in the trunk so the midget can hear you |

BTW guys, the trunk WILL open if you have the key in your pocket and you reach under the lip and hit the button. It's no kicker opening, but it's something.

Definitely is bogus that it falsely advertises the feature on the website.
What are we - peasants who have to open our trunk the old fashion way? I'm returning my car. :P

At least it's probably saving us a few lbs by leaving it off. Could be worse, if it was Porsche they'd try and charge us for everything left off in pursuit of weight savings.

Valid.
I still want my party trick dammit. Plus, if the woman takes my car I don't have to worry about her purse/keys scraping the back - maybe.
