I have struggled in the past in removing the brittle hose off the Valve Cover and have watch several videos where a screwdriver and pick tools were used.

Here I used a ZIP-TIE to remove with great success. A little technique involved but works great & without breaking any tabs.

Photo does not show much. The small zip-tie (size unknown) is used to simultaneously open up & unlock (3) of the tabs (bottom and side tabs) -- then with a small flathead lift the top tab and pull hose of VC connection. Actually all (4) can be unlocked with the zip-tie. Hope this helps:
