M240i Doors Require More Force to Shut?

Guys;

I just traded my 15 M235i for a brand new 18 M240i. I noticed today that the doors require more force to close than my M235i otherwise they remain open if you just push them shut too lightly. Is it possible the door strikers aren't lined up optimally or is it just a quark of the 18 model year?

Probably the same on your m235 when you first bought, but it slowly got easier because of "wear and tear". m240 will probably be the same after you break it in.

First off glad to see you traded in the M235i after everything you went through.

Second beautiful color combination, congrats and enjoy. Third BMW door seals when new take a while to wear in. I've gone through it on every BMW I've owned and again on my wife's 18 X1. It will take a little extra effort for at least a couple of months.

Many thanks. Yes the deal turned out nicely and I'm happy with the upgrade. I ordered with the stock audio system instead of Harman/Kardon and I actually miss the Harman now. Stock is really mediocre. My next mod is to gut the entire audio system and put something in that meets Audioholics standards

Noted about the doors. thanks.

Wow, those mirror covers need painted ASAP
My passenger door is rarely used and seems like it requires more effort to close than my drivers door. Also I do remember a particular door seal did not come with my 14 MY M235i not sure if the 15MY did either but might contribute to harder closings now. Good luck with the M240 and I like the exterior color just the mirror covers stick out.

I picked up my 2021 M240i and I have the same issue when I have to slam the door with great force to fully shut it.

Did it get better for you after some break in period or did you take it to a service shop?
