Schroth Quickfit Pro
I have a friend that had harness for his 1 series which he sold so I grabbed the harness. A track day popped up due to warm weather here so put the summer wheels back on. I didn't think I had time for the harness install but for the heck of it I did a quick tug on the rear seat and it popped right out so went and installed the harness. Beautiful German engineering. Worked great. Just have to remember to close driver door before snuggling in. Great track day.

I would like to play with my E36. I spend lots money on my 228i, it's make me so disappointed. I have stage 2 tune, trans tune, full bolt on engine, f82 LCA, bushing, bilstein b14, camber plate. But it is still too slow. I'm rather than spent these money on my e36 to make it a lot more faster than my f22, and save money.

I own an M240i which I track. The 230i cars seem to handle curvy tracks such as Virginia International Raceway better than the M240is. I think their weight balance is closer to 50/50 than that of the M240is.

Curb weight is the major handicap our cars have; it's hard to be really quick while accelerating all that weight.

It works great. I also got the anti-submarining belt kit which works with it. Haven’t installed yet but many experienced drivers have been arguing the absolute necessity for it in conjunction with the 4 point. Looks easy enough to put in — I haven’t seen anyone on here post about that part yet so I will report back soon after installing.

Do you have a link for that product? I can't seem to find it on HMS' site.

It took me awhile to find the first time I was looking. It should be able to go right up through the stock sport seats no problem. I’ll know for sure by next week when I get time to install.

It would be great if you could post some installation photos.

So is this the harness you’re using? https://www.schrothracing.com/item/s...ning-Harnesses Be great to see some pics. I’ve done 2 light track days in my m240i using only a Hans device, Simpson Hybrid Sport. It’s great, but I’m flailing all over the place. Last edited by fatsport; 03-04-2021 at 11:03 AM.. I had feared that these would cause spinal compressions as my shoulders come up over the seat-back, however, upon further investigation, they are designed in a way to release slack on one side and sort of act like a regular seatbelt on impact, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Still, to echo what’s been said here already, it’s not certified for our cars. Personally, I’d rather roll the dice over being tossed around like a rag doll. Edit: I edited this in the comment below but just to be sure, the harness is actually the Quick Fit "Pro" -- this buckle has the receiving end for the additional sub kit. https://www.schrothracing.com/item/schroth-quickfit-pro

That pic is the Quickfit; there is a QF-II that has a better buckle, same basic design otherwise (doubt the subs would work with what was pictured). They don't really need a sub belt, but it can't hurt.
Check the M2/3/4 boards, as there are often used sets for sale b/c the M-seats don't have the hole to use these ): And perhaps it is a promising sign of upcoming certification that they are using a picture of a 2'er to illustrate street legal harnesses (https://www.schrothracing.com/post/s...egal-harnesses) Last edited by Maynard; 03-05-2021 at 07:22 AM.. |

It’s the Quick Fit Pro, https://www.schrothracing.com/item/schroth-quickfit-pro This is what I have, and there is a hole in the M sport seats, you just have to remove the piece of leather/pleather between the front adjustment and the seat bottom. I plan on using Velcro to make it a quick process to remove and replace. Pics to come next week.

Thanks guys. Quick fit Pro stated it was to go with a Hans device, so that makes sense.
The E82/E92 harness? Dimensions for our car are basically the same as the 1 series(E82), so I think that should be it. My next track day is with SCCA at Palm Beach Raceway on March 28th, so I can order 1 if I don't see it on the boards for sale. |

Update on the Sub kit add-on.
Maynard was right, the seat is solid under the front bolster! Can’t believe it — usually seats like these have a gap there under the fabric but these have a solid metal plate design. So I’m sticking with the 4 point after all. The guys who told me it was necessary, didn’t realize I have the QF “Pro” with the benefit of the relief strap design, so that was the reason I was being nudged towards needing the sub kit. I guess we’re all good without it.
