Opinions on splitter flippers?

Seen these a lot on Ali and eBay. Since it's pot hole nation where I live I'm considering these but painted gloss black to go with my mw m235i.

I have a mineral white M240i convertible and I sort of like this look. But I too am worried about spending too much for something that could be easily damaged. So, in for opinions and links to decent inexpensive options.

Grim- I have the front flipper think I paid 175ish looks great. I had a full splitter but roads in Boston too bad and broke the bottom. Point is depending on where you live and roads... depends on how much I would spend. But definitely get some sort of splitter, good luck bro

So is it installed with screws and double sided tape or just tape?

Hwn - if it's the whole splitter it's double sided tape plus 4 screws in the middle, if your just doing the side flippers it's just double sided tape.

Hey man,
I'm in the same boat same color car. Considering just the gloss black splitter flappers to match gloss black mirror caps and diffuser. Haven't seen too many gloss black diffuser for the white car. Hopefully, that will look good and not contrast too much black.

How do you like the flappers? You think it makes the car look better? This is a good picture but I'm still not sure. I see you've been looking for a thin splitter. Any success. If so, can you post a picture and give your thoughts?

Do you have anymore pics of your car with flappers standing a little further away?

Gloss black looks good on white, how are they held on, 3M tape?

They sale the whole splitter with lip on ebay for just over $100. You can always just put the flappers on separately from what it looks like in the pics. Flappers alone are about the same price.. Held on by double sided tape probably 3m or similar.

Gloss black does look good on white but so does Matt black on rear diffuser. I'm hoping the gloss don't stand out in a cheap way on the rear.

Since the OP is no longer posting, does anyone know the make of the "flippers" depicted in the first post? I like the design as they have some additional bulges along the lower leading edge that other flippers don't have.

Not sure why this link is this long. I've been waiting to hear back from the seller to see if the flappers can be used without the lip.

Are you speaking of the weather flap on the bottom of the wheel liner? Initially, I thought this was part of the flapper but closer inspection proved otherwise. Even without the weather flapper in the way,, I also thought the flapper itself might have more bulge but it's hard to tell for sure when comparing to other flappers.

No. It's the black/CF cover depicted that goes over the lower intake edges of the front bumper.

I do know of the bumper rubber flap part that you're referencing.

I personally never understood what these add really. They basically just form fit around a piece that already looks just like that, and on lighter cars they highlight that center part of the front end that just looks kinda like a goofy grin. If you're gonna do flippers look at the AC Schnitzer ones to see how it's done. And then also prepare for some sticker shock

Thanks for the link!

I bought 2 of these. All I wanted was the "lips" not the lower "splitter". I installed the splitter with the lips anyway to see what it looked like. I ran it for anout 2 months that way and recently took off the lower splitter. I prefer it this way.

The main motivation originally was to cover the edges of the "lips" as mine had kissed the ground lightly a few times. I had seen plenty of folks on here who had ripped off thier M perf. splitter and left the lips. So I bought 2 of these knowing I would scratch them eventually, so I have a backup.

They fit great. Unless you aere looking for Lambo fit quality. Of so, got for the AC's, and like above, be prepared to get rid of your kidneys....

You bought the same one from ebay? I was skeptical to get it but now I think I'll order it. Can you pics of your car?

I can take more if you like with the lower off. I am super busy the next couple days but I should be able to get a pic up over the weekend.

Nice! Thanks. I'd like to see pics without lip when your not tied up. I got a response from the seller who claims the flappers can't be used alone because they have to be screwed with the lip. I don't understand why they wouldn't work.

It looks like you have the same. design rear diffuser as me accept my ebay version is gloss black and has an extremely poor fit. The 2 corner holes on the bottom left and right side don't line up with the factory holes. So, the push pins won't go in no matter what. Ended up using screws temporarily to hold in place. Not sure what to do about it accept maybe drill the diffuser. Maybe just get a better one next time. Still can get the driver side upper clips to snap in place. They just won't grab the bumper so the diffuser is lifted off slightly. Most won't notice but some will.

How did your install go?

No prob, and your welcome.

Not sure why they say they wont fit. I used heavy duty double sided tape for mine and it works great. I attached these THEN drilled and bolted the lower part to the car.

NOTE: I wanted to make sure it was the same one, so I tailed my ebay history. Here is the exact one I bought. The first one got to me no problem. The second one got damaged in transit (never made it to me, UPS admitted fault and sent it back to vendor), and they immediately sent another one.

Sorry for any confusion.
