I am. Apparently, the warranty coverage they offered would only apply if taken to a BMW dealer for install AND NOT cover any labor/shop fees should it need to be removed and sent back for a replacement....Yeah, I am NOT doing that on my dime.

Will just send it back and get one locally.

I think you are making the right decision. Warranty breach on a rear diff is not something I want to experience either. Hope everything goes smooth from here on in.

How's the combo sounding/feeling? Im doing CG-1 catted downpipe plus Dinan intake. Should be very similar.

They are both a very different sound from different area. On mine so far, the slightly louder throttle sound from exhaust is overpowering the intake sound. I can barely hear the intake taking air in and couldnt hear the release at all mostly. This is on the freeway.

On local this morning, I can hear it a little better than yesterday, so Im not sure if there is a break in period.

Overall, I love the sound from the downpipe, (Kinda wish the cold start is a little calmer) and a little disappointed with the intake sound.

Just turned over 57k miles. New windshield installed today. Millway camber plates and powerflex bushings installed on Tuesday with an oil/filter and brake flush. Should be good to go now until October.

Looks good, I hate the soft windshields BMW uses. I hope this one lasts you for many more miles.

Just a question, I'm not into racing or modding too much but is that the factory strut bar attached there to the top of the camber plate? I thought they are supposed to be attached to the strut tower outer bolts? I'm just concerned about too much stress on the plate causing things to rattle loose.

Edit: Never mind that's how they were designed for this car, I guess it just seemed off.

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...hlight=millway slightly different model than this one for f87.

Sanded down some curb rash and painted it with a quick and dirty touch up pen. Purchased Alloy Gators and installing on arrival...

oh yeah! It is also in the shop getting its transmission checked out and I have a 330i as a loaner... and boy am I glad I bought the 2 series instead of the 3.

Its kind of sad to see how far the 3 series has come from its origins... it felt like a teched up german muscle car ; the steering was atrocious and the whole package just kind of felt like makeup on a pig. The tech and comfort was quite remarkable though, I will give them that! I understand why the market would want something like this.

I lowered it on Dinan Springs. I ordered them earlier this year and they have been on back order. Finally got them and had them installed. I only have about 100 miles on them and so far so good. I love the way it looks. The steering feels more direct but that could be all in my head.

Wheels are OZ 18x8 +45mm square. Tires are factory staggered sizes 225 front and 245 rear.

Installed FTP charge pipe! Combo with the Dinan intake, it has a nicer sound than the stock one!

FTP Motorsports intake, chargepipe, and scoops, and a "stage 1" off-the-shelf Bootmod3 tune for ACN-91 pisswater. 251 whp and 256 lbs-ft. Lower raw numbers than expected, but I guess Mustang Dynos have a reputation as heartbreakers. The delta was disappointing too. Maybe it's the altitude and/or heat.

I suspect the pull wasn't quite right (trouble with kickdown button, wrong gear, or the electronic nannies interfering?) and/or operator error from the shop because the chart itself makes zero sense. Seconds in the x-axis, power and torque never crossing with different scales on the y-axis, power and torque decreasing over time rather than increasing, etc.

Nice mod list - I also would have thought it would pull a little more, they "curve" is strange too...

Side note - what wheels do you have on there?

Yeah, I was disappointed too. I was hoping for 265 whp-ish, and the torque seems really low. The car is fun to drive though, so I'm not really worried about it.

The wheels are SSR Reiner Type-6. This post has all the details

If you decide to tune it, MHD has an option to turn off the cold start so that it stays quiet/at low RPMs. There's also a startup roar option as well if you want to go the other direction.

I am glad you brought this up! I been researching and considering doing the cold start delete when I tune it, but wasn't completely sure. Whats the function of cold start? Whats the implication of deleting it? Is it just to warm up the cat? Or is it to warm up the engine and burn more fuel because of all the condensation in the engine?

I wouldn't turn it off. The intent of the design is to warm up the cat quicker. This is a fairly important design because cold starts are so rich with fuel and the fuel can saturate the cat. By lighting off the cat faster, it burns the fuel vapor quicker as well. Turning off the cold start function has also led to weird stumbling starts on some N55s.

The reason cold starts are louder is because the wastegate is wide open.

I sold it. I really did like it but not as a daily driver. Used car prices are crazy now and got an offer I had to take. I ordered a X3m40i which should make me happy. My 2 was a fun third car….I am going to have only one car a fun X3 with a nice motor.
