I think this discussion has ignored the main issue: Driving a cold car aggressively will accelerate wear on some parts of the engine and transmission, but have no effect at all on the rest of the car.

That wear might, at worst, shorten the lifetime of the drivetrain before major repairs are needed from 250,000 miles to 100,000 miles. That matters only if you want to keep the car a long time.

I always buy new because I expect to keep a car for at least 200,000 miles. Life changes haven't always made that possible, but I don't want to preclude doing that by buying a demo. If someone changes cars every 4 years I can't see any mechanical reason to avoid a demo.

Exactly...think of how much better you move around when you drop "10"!!

Or in this case, about 120 lbs right over the front wheels!

Don't be an ass - lots of great reasons to prefer the 228/230, and no justification to call somebody else's choice wrong. I know it was my preference for the handling, and not really needing the extra power (anybody claiming to really max out a 228 on public roads is lying or headed for jail). HP bragging is for those who have overspent on Nugenix (perhaps not getting the 'anticpated results' ? )

Congrats to OP on his new found baby.

I took his choice of words and winking emoji as a sign of teasing, and feel free to tease right back...considering he has the over-larded version

There's always a better car. Tennisfreak is 671 short of a real machine.

My 2017 230i was a company car. Bought as CPO in December 2017. 7000 miles.

Demo here. No issues except the noisy exhaust flap. They replaced the muffler. CPO for another 3.5 years. I paid < 80% of MSRP for a car with 8k miles and CPO. Seemed pretty reasonable.
