Transport Blocks on my M240i

Hey Guys! I have received my M240i in the past month. I have noticed a weird/harsh ride with the car not handling as well as I thought.
I have started looking around and it seems like there could be a problem with my transport blocks not being removed.
I have checked that and remove the front blocks https://down.uploadfiles.io/get/v941b
This part I should have removed, right?

However coming to the rear, the part is a bit different and has a big black thing attached to it. What should I do? Do I need to remove it?

the yellow part most likely is the shock bump stop which is supposed to be there. the black cover looks chewed up. I would suggest going to your BMW dealer

You have removed the bumpstop "additonal shock absorber" from the front suspension, if you bottom the suspension without it in place you will damage the damper and possibly other suspension components, it is not a shipping block, see part #4 on this diagram: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=31_0950

For the rear, the black part is a boot to protect the damper piston from dirt and debris, attached to the "additional shock absorber", part #5 on this diagram: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=33_1619

Your suspension harshness is not due to these essential components, it may just be the nature of the suspension tuning that you are not used to, or a malfunctioning adjustable suspension if your car is fitted with it.

Hey. Thanks for the great response!
My car is fitted with the adaptive suspension. When I put it in Sport mode, the car feels very wavy on certain roads, not firmer or something. It can just wobble and make the ride very bad. It does not happen on Comfort mode.

What do you think is the reason? Is there a known issue in the Adaptive Suspension?

My M240i also has the adaptive suspension with non-run flat Michelin PSS 18” tyres. In sport mode the suspension is well controlled on most roads, better than in comfort mode. I run 2.5 bar / 36 PSI in all 4 tyres (pressure when tyres are cold). If the suspension in sport mode is not more controlled than comfort mode on all but the roughest roads and your tyres are at an appropriate pressure, I would say you may have a problem that the dealer should look at.

You did just tell us about 'removing the front blocks' that were actually bumpstops? gotta think that can't be good for the handling, and perhaps you unplugged part of the adaptive system as well - it is dealership time I think. You might also try to get them to let you test drive another car w/ the same suspension, for comparison.
