BimmerCode
Just used this app on my iPhone to make the following changes:
-Auto-Fold Mirrors on comfort touch lock/unlock -Windows/Mirrors/Sunroof open/close with FOB -Legal disclaimer removal -Ambient lighting 100% -DRL 100% at all times -Digital Speedometer -Show current gear in dash -M Performance iDrive Startup -M Performance BC startup -Door handle lights on during reverse I would highly recommend this app to anyone. It was super easy to utilize and backs up your settings in case you need to revert your changes. Probably the best $30 (App) and $12 (OBDII Adapter) spent! |

I just got this today after reading about it on the M2 forum. It's awesome and idiot proof.

SwolePatrol Did you have to buy a special OBDII adapter or can I just get any with Wifi?
The website states "A Vgate iCar 2 Wi-Fi OBD adapter is required to connect to your car." I have a bluetooth one so I assume it wouldn't work |

You make your changes then hit "code" and during that time I have no idea what would happen if you lose connectivity but I cannot imagine it being good.

I don't want to brick my car, so I'll pay for a quality adapter. Do you have a model you recommend? Their recommendation received quite low rating... https://www.amazon.com/Vgate-Functio...s=Vgate+iCar+2 |

For torquepro I use this one in case anyone is interested, I tried a few and this was the best. Leave it in the car all the time with no issue. Only suggestion I would make is pain the thing black, the clear housing with lights gets distracting at night with the foot well lit up. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This sure looks simpler than dealing with the hacker underground of E-Sys. I started down that path, but have to get a new(er) laptop with enough memory. And I need to rebuild the ethernet adapter that came mis-wired.
Still, E-Sys does everything. Are there any key capability areas that E-Sys has that this Bimmercode doesn't cover yet? It seems like iCarly is missing a lot of things, and this OBD based product might have some of the same limitations. |

I also jumped on this couple weeks ago. Coding was a breeze. I haven't tried advanced mode yet. I'll dive into that next week when I get a chance.
Also, how do you make a backup? Just once every time you make changes? Does it make an auto backup for you? That part wasn't clear |

Maybe in the advanced mode there is a way to increase he mph higher? I'd have to double check pikcachu 's cheat sheet google Doc. You can use that as a reference for advanced coding. Only problem is it's a cluster fuck navigating advanced mode in the app |

VIM on ID5/ID6 is locked greater than 63 kph due to change in bitmask. To achieve at greater speeds, you use either script activation or hardware bypass.

I'm on board with the BimmerCode bandwagon, got my Vgate today and tried it out. Works exactly as advertised!
If you play with the Climate Control settings, it needs to calibrate. Make sure it calibrates all the way (let it go long enough) otherwise you can't turn off the fan... easy fix with a full recalibration |
