This is actually a nice default feature. It starts to load navigation when car is unlocked, so I usually unlock the car while walking through the parking lot. By the time I turn the car on, both navigation and traffic info are loaded (or almost loaded).

The default for that is 0F, what should the setting be changed to Pikcachu?

Sorry, ignore me; just seen the setting on the cheat sheet. Doesn't change anything though as far as I can tell so a no go...

supposedly it will make the sensors work all the time... maybe you need some of the other PDC variables to be changed.... the problem with this would be everytime you get to a light, it will beep cause of the car in front

True; it may be advisable not to tamper then I think... 😉

pikcachu Better to ask here than a necro'd thread. I will be taking delivery of a new M235i (RWD) in approx 3 weeks. I have now found out after order of the 130 vs 155 depending on the tire.

Since my car is coming with all seasons, I will be locked at 130mph for tire safety reasons. However, my intentions were never to keep the all seasons, I just wanted the darker rim option.

Is it realistic to think that I will be able to modify the 130 mph limit to 155, without a burger tune or similar?

supposedly you can add option 840 and VO code the DME as long as it's been 10 hours or less that the car has ran.... after 10hs the VMAX gets locked...

that's what I know

Thanks for writing back!

So to even attempt this, I would need to arrive at my dealership for pickup with a cable and laptop in hand ready to try and program?

I am thinking, if, down the road, BMW issues a mandatory software update for our vehicles will we have an issue? If the VIN ID of a car (like mine, 130 mph) leaves the motherland knowing it was last a 130mph car, would an update from my dealership not overwrite any potential changes I may have made within the first 10 hours? Do we have any instances of 840 being added successfully after delivery? (I read many threads of suspicions of GPS monitoring etc...)

(you don't happen to live in the SE Michigan area, do you?)

P.S. I would have PM'd all this to you, but I am new on the forum and am waiting my 1 hour for verification. Apologies, not trying to hi-jack.

as long as you are within 10hs of the car running it should work...
You might need a charger to keep the voltage as you can't code the DME with the engine running... not sure if it's worth the trouble to do

Not sure, worst case it goes back to 130 if the dealer flashes the car...
I remember reading on the F30 forum someone was able to do it..

Thanks for taking the time. I think I am going to pass on the 155 limit. Thinking about it, I assume you mean 10 hours within the FIRST time the motor has run (not total run time). So I would need to do a ED. I will not be doing this.....

Only well. It's not that I would ever drive over 130 (Or even 130). Just part of me being able to bang on my chest

Thanks again!

Yes that's it. My car was programmed with latest i-level 2 weeks ago.

What changed with BC_MOTORTEMP_ENABLE is that temperature icon changed (previously it was a motor, now it's regular temperature one) and there is now a cursor. BUT cursor stays on the left unfortunately and there is no OK nor LOW displayed...

While my car was serviced two weeks ago, dealer gave me a 216d Active Tourer and BC_MOTORTEMP_ENABLE was working OK...

It has entry_nav and low combi display.

Motor temperature was displayed properly on combi (with moving cursor and LOW/OK message depending on motor temperature).

There was also a CID secondary Sport Menu (on top of power/torque one) in which it was indicated that motor temperature was Normal...

M2 press release documents shows a functionnal BC_MOTORTEMP_ENABLE...

Did anyone figure this out yet?

Dumb question: Can anyone tell me what the BC is?

So the m3/m4 ASD no longer works?
Is the M start up animation display available for those without the larger screen?

M3 sound only works for older I-steps apparently

Animation should work for all screens

Thanks!
Getting coded this weekend so I've been thinking of what to get:
  • Enable Bluetooth Audio
  • Enable Tire Pressure and Temp
  • Variable Light Distribution
  • Flashing Brake Force Display
  • S55 or N55 ASD
  • Sport Display
  • M Animation Start Up Display

I found some pretty useful information in the instructions that came with my new BMW ENET (Ethernet to OBD) Interface Cable.

Writing this as the obligatory initial post and kickstart my membership on the forums and gather further coding instructions.

Since I have the OBDII cable I'm requesting directions to the most current SW and the “Fully Functional” version of the ESYS Launcher Pro appropriate for a 2015 228i.

Thanks in advance. Cheers, Mac

PM sent.

E-Sys Launcher Pro can only be obtained via the Developer (TM) though.
