What sizes are you running? Any suspension upgrades? Any problems with figment?

FYI the tyre sizes I quoted were correct. I'm guessing as I'm the 2nd owner and the wheels were added after market, they aren't the original tyre specs. None the less they help to fill the arches a bit more and actually make the speedo more accurate compared with a GPS. Thanks again for the assistance. |

Bought wheels/tires off another forum member.
VMR710FF, 19x8.5 et35 (225/35), 19x9.5 et45 (255/30), MPSS. Stock suspension. Def more aggressive fit than stock. |

First, my car = 2015 M235i My preference is 18's - F8.5x18 (with stock 225/40/18 mpss) / R9.5x18 (with stock 245/35/18 mpss) VMR usual fitments are as above. This is the most common I see. F8.5x18 +35 R9.5x18 +45 Front fitment - I am done/decided = 8.5x18 +35 Rear fitment is my dilemma, I'm wondering about a +40 or +45 offset? Questions: Most wheel size calculators show 12mm less inner clearance with 9.5 ET45. I know this works, as it's most common, but is that really significant to the point that I should bring it out with ET40's? Does +40's bring that out too far where it would significantly affect handling? Am I banging my head against the wall for nothing? (6 of one, half a dozen of the other). Split the difference (42/43) and call it a day?

They only come in one size for 18". I believe they are 18x8 all around with ET 35. Fits pretty close to flush all around. VMR said I was the first M240 with it and they have to drill it for my car. So happy with it though. I always liked this look.

Thanks! If you have the chance, throw up a few more pics. I'm having a tough time deciding on 18" wheels for this car, mostly because I like wheels with some "depth" and the offsets just don't allow it, so most good looking wheels have a crappy looking "flat" version for our car. But your wheels seem to pull off a good look despite that.

This is a great set-up! Exactly what I'm looking for. Maybe not the exact same wheels (although the 710's are awesome), but for fitment, these are the best pics I've seen showing 18's with 8.5+35 / 9.5+45 with stock tires. I like this look.

Was browsing through this thread and decided to do what you were asking for Don't get me wrong - I too appreciate that nice wheels are to a car what elegant shoes are to a well-dressed man, and as such they should fit perfectly but not cry "hey, look at me" while being visible (yet not a center of attention)... I'm going to upgrade my wheels as soon as my tires require replacement, and will certainly go for wider tires than the moderate stock ones - but to prove my point, here is a pic of my 100% OEM setup (sorry that car is dirty - I had just returned from a long trip before I took the photo; unfortunately the wheels are covered with a thick layer of pad dust so they look as gray as the tires). But I'm posting it to show that even the stock setup can look more "balanced" than one with larger and poking out rims when they are black and just disappear, especially in contrast with the AW body... So - please don't kill me, it's just MHO - poking tires look silly; poking black wheels look silly and ugly . The second pic shows what I call elegant and sporty. And the third one - elegant, sporty and... reasonable , and this is what I'll be trying to achieve with my new setup: 18", slightly wider wheels (no poking, though), and wider tires (rears - for more grip on dry, front - for less understeer, and extra protection from potholes as with the same profile, they will be as high as my current OEM ones)... Piotr

Oops, at first glance I thought that was the pic from page 1 of this thread, so fitment might not be the same. My bad.
