What's wrong? :/

I have a 2016 BMW M235i Xdrive.
So last night while I was parking I could feel a rumble and hear grinding from under the car towards the front side when the steering was fully turned in either direction. I got under the car but can’t see anything but it seems to only do this when the car is engaged in drive or reverse because when in park and the steering rotated I feel or hear nothing.

When the car is engaged in drive/reverse and slowly move the car will move however at a point the car stops itself and seems to struggle to move past a certain point and begins to rumble as if it something locked up in the front.

The car will drives normal if going straight only and seems to shift normal too.

Any suggestions on what it might be??

Sounds X drive related... like a disconnected/broken CV joint.

Is that very difficult/expensive to repair? This is my first Xdrive car so I’m not very familiar with them just yet.

As long as it’s nothing too bad like a the front differential I think I’ll be okay. Do you think it’s a possibility it’s the front diffy?

Thanks for the help in advance

I've never owned an xdrive either. Best thing would be to troubleshoot it on a lift or jack stands with all 4 wheels off the ground.

If it is notchy while slowly moving with the steering locked left or right it is a worn CV joint. Fairly easy to replace.

Sounds like CV joints to me as well.
