Hope it was just duration and not driving style that triggered it!

Mine popped up last year when I was on the Houston to Atlanta leg of a 10 day road trip. It was my longest leg and there were two traffic slowdowns. I don't recall how long I had been driving when it popped up.

One of the “blessings” of being over 60 is the more frequent stops for a pee break. The only time mine has come on was on a 3+ hr stretch and I was ready to burst haha.

Did it stay on until you did something to turn it off, or did it go away on its own once you started behaving in the approved manner?

I've not seen this, although I rarely look at the screen when I'm driving. After reading about this feature in Sportstick's link, mine should have come on many times by now. Mine's pre-LCI, so maybe in the case of the M240i it's a post-LCI attempt to protect us from ourselves.

I don't see this on the centre screen because that is turned off while driving. It appears on the screen in front of the steering wheel, where it blocks important information like distance to empty.

There is a way to turn it off, but it takes a lot of searching which is annoying and distracting while driving. And, like all computer commands, I forget about it within a couple days if I don't use it.

Where are all the nannies who tut-tutted about the dangers of driving after the warning appears, when I posted this a couple years ago in the things I hate thread? They were entertaining.

It is on the 2017 as well. I've seen it on mine on a couple of long drives.

Apparently, there are two kinds of 2017 M240i then – guess I got one of the good ones!

Yeah no such warning when I drove from GA to VA after picking up the car. Only stopped once in NC for gas.

You're not the only one; please post a photo if you're successful in getting it to appear. I'll do the same!

I have a basic 2017 M240 (that is, no nav, no driver assist, lane-keep or anything like that). I routinely make 2-3hr drives and have even pushed my car non-stop to the range of a full tank before and I have never seen this message. I either drive so well that my car doesn't feel the need to show me this message or (more likely), I'm missing some option which enables this message.

Alertness Assistant

This is described on page 158 of the car's manual. I had it come once on the center Control Display screen - I just pressed the iDrive controller and it went away. Apparently some driving styles like sporty driving or changing lanes frequently will limit this warning! So...if you're not getting this warning...

When mine activated I started waiting for a secret compartment to open and serve the cup of coffee that was represented on the screen.

Yep, your right. It must be the Massachusetts roads. There's hardly a road in this state that doesn't qualify as poor.

Or were you implying that I drive like an a-hole?
Thanks!
