maybe its just me, but i kind of like the standard 2 series more than the m235i.
i have an m-sport 328i actually but for the 2 series i think if the 228 sport line looks nice it might be a car in my future. i know this pic was put up a while back of a camo'd 2 series , which looks to have sport line rims. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...news-headlines |

The black diffuser is a bit of a let down, it looks like plastic and it hides the exhausts, I think they could have done more here. The rear end just looks a bit clumsy.
The front end looks good allthough the interface between the lights and the kidneys is not ideal, it still seems to be causing some difficulties for BMW. Overall its ok, it looks exaclty the same as the car underneath the tarpaulin from 6 months ago. It doesn't quite have the mmmmm factor of, say, an S3 Sedan from the pictures, but im looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. |

I also think the E39 is the best looking 5 series and the E46 M3 is a timeless design that will age well. I'm just not sure why some people complain when other people state that they prefer previous designs over brand new models.

Those new pics make it look even better. I'm sure those taillights will grow on us. Either that or BMW will do a taillight update in a few years. I'm going to wait though to see if a real M2/2M comes out. I believe that's the only thing that's going to get me out of my E92.

I absolutely love the front and the back. The back is sleek and elegant with the thin bit of metal above the rear lights (rear 3/4 view) and reminds me of certain styling elements from the '80s. Those are things that make cars not getting boring and BMW know how to do this kind of design. (f.ex. Audi doesn't; R8 exception aside) The downside is most of the people need some time to get used to this bits. Some prefer simple, nice design that soon becomes boring, I do not. Few tiny imperfections lead to the perfection. For me at least.
I like the side view less but i like it nonetheless. I'm sure I'll love it in the metal. I hope we'll see the GranCoupe too. The success the CLA is having in the USA should make the GC desirable until the 1 series sedan comes in. I see this car becoming a classic! Last edited by lasovan; 10-24-2013 at 12:45 PM.. |

I actually like the tail-lights, but somewhat miss the squatty nature of the E82--this will grow on me I think

If you order a yellow car with pink wheels, then don't like it when it shows up, no, you aren't going to get your deposit back... With a highly anticipated car like this, you might not get it back early in the life cycle just for the fact that you would have "taken" an early production slot in line that the dealer can't get back... In 6 months, that likely would not be the case...so it really just depends

You got it my man--I would suggest calling the sales manager @ the dealer at which you are considering placing the deposit. Walk them through the different possibilities and see if there are any dealership-specific rules when it comes to deposits.
If you're worried, I would get those explanations in writing. An email is sufficient.

Looks much better in m-sport than regular. The front area between the headlight and the grille could use some work, as well as the rear diffuser. That much plastic in the rear cheapens the look for me.

I actually like the front end of the base model better, those air slots or whatever they are called make it look like a large mouth bass. If the base model was a different color than the ugly beige it would be hot. The question would be which air slots do you get with a 228 M Sport.
