I don't even have an estimated ship date yet. We were on the same boat over.

Once the car reaches the port the rough time frame that we have seen over the years is 3-8 working days till you get it at the dealership. If you do ED then it has to go through a couple more steps (customs stuff) and that could slightly add a little more time.

Could someone tell me the 800 number to check the status? I can't seem to find it in the forum search. Thanks.

Thanks @Shankska & @patbrass

interestingly, once I activated my BMWFS account, the Track Your BMW disappeared from MyBMW. I can't see the options of the vehicle or the progress bar.

Yeah I made that mistake myself a month ago and now just have the phone system. I guess you could delete your car and readd it but that seems pointless since you get same info by phone.

The automated 800 number provides no useful info. It just says your vehicle is in transit, please contact your center for details.

Who knew this thread was going to be so popular.
My dealer's communication on status has been sh$t. I'm just calling BMWNA for status and if the car is going to be delivered to the dealer Saturday as projected I'm telling them I'm picking it up, period. I'm not waiting past the weekend for prep and detail. Good thing we ED types already have a key!

I'm sure dealers don't care as much about ED re-delivery as they would a new delivery because the sale is already in the books before you pick it up in Europe. So, to them it's probably more of a nuisance and it takes a salesman who genuinely cares to probably keep you up to date on things.

I haven't bothered calling my dealer. I know their status updates would probably be just as bad. Since I just got to port a couple of days ago, I figure I still have two weeks before I can reasonably expect an update and that's when I will start calling BMWNA.

Hope you get it as planned this weekend!

Did your car crash into mine? Were you on the Aida?
I was on the AIDA. But no idea why this takes a month in VPC.

533, I agree that the dealers don't care much about us after the papers are signed. All the focus is on the next sale which I understand.... to some extent.

I was on the Aida as well.

Maybe your car crashed into mine which in turn crashed into mac's car. I'm just going to go ahead and lay all blame on you.

Btw, dealer emailed me this morning to say he will have my car on Monday. A little to late, imo, as Sunday is the last day of my vacation.

That's actually great news that you will have it soon. Too bad it just missed your vacation!

The 1800# number is very informative....... if you elect to talk to a rep. They have access to the same system as the dealer does. They can give you ETA for everything... including ETA out of VPC, ETA released to carrier, ETA to dealer, etc.. They are sometimes reprehensive about giving estimates out because they will stress that all of that dates they give are just that estimates.
