Right, probably less noticeable when she scratches the diffuser trying to kick the sensor. You'd also be blamed for scuffed shoes.

Haha, yup!
Oh well. Not sure what we can do at this point. They probably have some fine print somewhere covering their ass.

If my car wasn't too far along to change I'd just get leather and park assist at this point. No premium, no HK.

Just updating:
I called BMWNA for a second time because I noticed the feature is now completely off the BMWUSA website. They are looking into some resolve - not sure what. The HK they did a dollar per watt he said. This one is a bit trickier. They asked for screenshots (I told them I took some) and now waiting to hear back.

Another case of the brochure was a mistake, wonder how many real mistakes we have. I have lost confidence in the ordering system I know that. What I use to order is what I use to get on the previous too many to mention cars
Maybe if enough us got together and petition BMW to rethink this option and the HK (EQ/Logic 7 minus the 4 extra speakers) I personally don't want the sound of the engine coming thru the speakers, I want the inside of my BMW to be quiet to enjoy the quality music. All their cars at a minimum if you order HK should get the surround sound, number of speakers are dependent on car and room in the car. IMO, to put a fake engine sound over the speakers is pretty lame. I have watched some of the stuff on bmw.tv where they say they take the sound of the car very seriously whether from the exhaust note to the interior audio. BMW really has too many of their hands ijn the pie, Im afraid with all the new models coming out to produce more cars to increase total amount sold but IMO, there are only so many BMW buyers out there because someone wanting the active tourer or one of the other new 12 models coming out after spending so much on a BMW may select another manufacture much cheaper than the equivalent BMW, economic times will dictate what the buyers purchase, only time will tell. I just hope because BMW is such a well engineered and unique brand it doesn't start causing them economic problems and we will start getting less well engineered cars due to cost cutting just to make it in the market. |

My case for this was assigned to Jessica. She called today and said they are not aware of this issue and requested screenshots. I sent her the screenshots and web page archive. Waiting to hear back.

Of course they are unaware...
Just replied to my email ticket to see if it gets any traction.

That's BS. If they reimburse for the same thing on the HK package, it should be done here. Honestly, I think it's BS they didn't include it in the comfort access package.

Pinching pennies
BMW got down to pinching pennies on this car to get in some price range but never mind about the fake engine note coming thru the audio, cant believe someone would want fake engine noises coming out of the audio. Wonder how much was spend on that, I would trade that for the EQ/Logic 7 and the Full Comfort Access features
I don't know the cost but someone looking on realoem.com could probably figure an approximate cost excluding the engineering. I maybe wrong but compared the S674A to the S688A amp and they were the same price, someone could double check me Got part numbers from realoem.com, tischer didn't have price but turner motor sport did, so price source is from turner, most likely cheaper thru ticher S674A 65129346571 $1064.95 (USD) HK Hi-Fi Amp S688A 65129330057 $1064.95 (USD) HK Surround Sound amp ?????? 65129343317 $233.95 (USD) Active Sound Module S322A 65209220831 $45.95 (USD) Outside Attenna Luggage compartment Im sure there is a wiring harness connector for the antenna for the other models with this feature, adding on another connector off the harness and Im not sure of other hardware to make trunk fully open but doesn't seem like much money Didn't check cost of wiring harness, no idea engineering cose. As I said before surely the cost engineering, harness for the ASD (Active Sound), much rather have the EQ, leave the speakers in there, worked on the E82 for S688A Active Sound is subjective, more than music, if it adds some rumble who is dispute it doesn't sound good, put S688A in and you will tell a difference in the audio sound Doubt we get it as option in 2015 but maybe by 2016 or the M2, we will get the surround sound, this was deal breaker for me, I didn't want to go down in audio quality when getting a new model, Im willing to wait The comfort access trunk opener was not deal breaker for me as I did not order ZPP but for those who thought they were getting one thing and got another, they should be compensated as HK orders were compensated. For approx. $50k car, these are only gripes from people I have really hear about, I just wish BMW would notice our concerns and correct the design but probably not, surely the M2 will have a better system, surely |

Official BMW response: there is a disclaimer on the website saying that there may be inconsistencies in what's advertised and what's actually on the vehicle. It's up to the customer to confirm features exist on their vehicle before purchasing.
Sickening. The correct response is "sorry, we messed up, we'll get it right next time by improving our website quality assurance", but they said it was my fault for not checking. They said I should have asked the sales rep, when I said I did and he said it was there but he didn't know how to work it, she said I should have checked further. What? Minus points for BMW brand. |
