It's now starting to get hot out and I turned on my a/c to find a disgusting mold smell. Cabin filter has been replaced and it's only when the a/c is on. Any ideas or solutions?

you can use lysol

I ended up removing the cowl to access that vent and found a bunch of old leaves n sticks. cleaned them out and sprayed with lysol like the video shows. no more smell. thanks!

After you do the recommended cleaning, I suggest doing what I've been doing for years with all of my A/C cars: Turn off the A/C about 1 mile before you get home. This allows the system to dry out and prevents the musty mildew smell. Works for me, anyway.
