Tyre Rubbing - M LCAs and Lowering Springs

Hi guys,
At the moment I am experiencing some fairly severe tyre rubbing at the front, similar to the OP in this old thread:
https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1530803

This is my current set up:

Rim: 18 x 8 + 37
Tyre: 235/40r18 Yokohama AD08R

Front fenders rolled and slightly pumped
Eibach SP Pro Kit 20mm Lowering Springs
Superpro LCA kit (identical to M3/M4 LCAs)

Since, the install of the LCA kit, the tyres would very occasionally rub. However, since the addition of the 20mm lowering springs, the rub has worsened dramatically.

I was wondering if anyone had a similar situation and what they did to fix it? For my use of the vehicle, I would prefer to stick with this tyre size up the front.

FYI: The rubbing seems to be occurring mostly on the connection between the fender and plastic front bumper (which can't be rolled), probably due to the LCA repositioned wheel effect.

That offset is too aggressive for 8" you probably need ET 40 or even 42...

I have a set for 17x8 ET40 on 245x40 and they fit fine...almost no rubbing unless you slam the car on some big downhill

Maybe if you do the M4 Tension struts it will push the wheel about 1 inch back

I have put back oem LCAs, and added camber plates to resolve this the proper way

I have a different setup than you but had the same problem: the metal fender was rubbing and was pushed out a bit further than the plastic bumper.

When I brought my car in for the fender roll I was concerned this was going to make it impossible to fix. It turns out there's a clip under that bumper that can be pulled out a bit and a spacer placed there so the seem where it meets the fender is extruded slightly. Now, with the fender rolled and the bumper pulled out they line up nicely.

Do you have a link to the spacer? This would be fantastic tbh.

Just heard back from the guy who did the fender rolling, and I misunderstood. Here's his response about the process. Hope this helps.

"No spacers were used in the rolling of those fenders, all factory, if they jack up the front end and remove the front half of the fender liners on each side and then take the two 8mm screws out that hold the front bumper on in the corners they will find another 10mm I do believe screw that connects the fender to the apron extension on each side, those holes are a very large square opening, once they begin rolling the fender you can loosen that screw and manipulate the fender to your desired location, button it back up and call it a day."

A little update guys,

I'm going to pick up a used set of 245/35r18 tyres and mount them on the front. This should give me roughly 5mm extra clearance from the guard (compared to 235/40r18). I'll let you know how it goes.

I have 18x8.5 et45 +3mm spacers and dinan front springs. Afraid to install LCA's that are sitting in my garage for this reason. Interested to see if the 5mm helps your situation

Looking good guys!

Just had 245/35r18 Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tyres mounted in lieu of the original 235/40r18 AD08rs and I am not getting any rubbing thus far.

I have driven a few roads where I normally rubbed fairly badly too.

I will do a bit more testing over the next few days and up the caster a little bit more to 7 degrees.

So basically, the side wall difference was about 15mm in total compared to 235/40r18 AD08r! I guess the side wall will depend on which make of tyre though!

To recap, my current set up is:

Super pro LCAs with 6 deg caster
Eibach Pro Kit SP lowering springs - 25mm front 20mm rear
18 x 8 + 37 wheel spec with 245/35r18 tyre at front
Front guards rolled with slight pump
