55k miles - Do Rod Bearings?

My M235i with around 55k miles is in the shop for unrelated issues (porous head). Since they have stuff apart, I asked if there was anything I might want to do while the indy has it partially apart. He advised they could do the Rod Bearings NOW for about $700 instead of the usual $1000. However, he sees no abnormal wear, at this point.

I have a good 3-year/100k warranty (covering the porous head). Should I pay for the Rod Bearings out of pocket now, or wait and see? Thoughts?

Thanks!

$1,000 is very cheap for a rod bearing job. Do you track the car? As long as it's not tracked heavily anf treated well when cold the bearings are still probably okay at 55k

I'm going to wait for now. May do myself later.

Thanks!
