Hey, that's pretty cool. I use IFTTT with my current Nest & Wemo set-up at home.

It was only a matter of time before someone directly did. The article is a bit misleading, a few manufactures like Ford leverage CarPlay as their IFTTT interface. You can actually do quite a few things that way.

Looks as though my car may not be supported right now. I activated the channel, but cant get BMW Labs to show up in my Connected Drive. It says it is for cars built from 2013 to 10/2015 and my car was completed Oct of 2015 so I am not sure what the deal is.

Holy CRAP! Really? This works in BMWs before the EVO/4G update in March 2015?
Gonna have to check this out this weekend ...

Checked my idrive and don't see the option for this....I guess it's not available in Canada? My build date was around Oct 5th.

Went to labs.bmw.com and registered. Opened IFTTT app on my iphone and looked up BMW recipes. Used my BMW login on the IFTTT app and that's about it. It did take about an hour before it showed up initially on the split screen. It is in Beta testing which means its a little sketchy.

It's an interesting concept for sure. Trying it out for a few days. I wish I didn't have to split screen it to enable it, but overall it's fun to see what this could do. I can see a lot of potential down the line.

So... what real world use cases are people finding worth doing, worth sharing your data with IFTTT?
The "where you parked"... well 95% of your car use you know exactly where you parked or are just at home/work... I agree the one for thermostat is good... garage door if you have that ability... others?
