89mm Exhaust Tips for M235i

Looking to get some exhaust tips.

Will 89mm exhaust tips fit M235i stock diffuser? Or will it rattle and make contact with the diffuser?

Thanks in advance

Perfectly. Any bigger and it'll be pushing it.

You're welcome. Here's 89mm BMS Black tips for reference. It fills the cutout perfectly with barely any space to either side.

according to google that's about a 3.5in tip, I currently have 4in tips with no problem on stock diffuser, no contact or heat issues. So you should have no problems!

It's just the standard 235i muffler with added BMS 3.5" black tips.

Do the tips make it sound any different?

Mine with 3.5" BMS tips.
I have had them on for the past 2 1/2 years with zero problems.
Super easy to put on.

I decided to just remove the stock tips and get them sand blasted and power coated, and see how that went. Cost was GBP £50 but I'm told that was pricey by others who've also had it done. Guess I should've turned up at the workshop in my 1.4L runabout and not a $55K M235i - I never learn. Here's how they came back from the workshop:

They look good and have survived the last winter fine. Main downside is that whilst the coating is great, once refitted, the inside of the tailpipe is still visible and the usual dull grey colour.

So more of a case of Does the Job compared to the corroding stock tips, but not necessarily a high-profile retro-fit. The workshop offered to paint them any colour, and I briefly considered matching the red of the tail lights and reflectors. But I chickened-out and went for gloss black.

Get to close to the diffuser and you run the risk of melting it. The exhaust does move so you need a decent gap.
