Wheel chatter while steering sharp in a parking lot

I've had a couple of other three series BMWs but my new to me 2015 m235i, which I'm loving so far, has a certain kind of wheel chatter when backing out of a parking spot and steering sharply, or going into a parking spot and steering sharply. I'm wondering if anyone else experiences this? My hunch is that it has something to do with wider tires? I'm hoping it's not an alignment issue of some sort, it seems to track real well and be straight on the highway. I'm new to this forum and thought I would ask if anyone has any experience with this?

Interesting but I don't think that's the case, doesn't make any noise like that it's just that the tires, or one of the two tires seems to do a little hop/slip as if it's a bit pigeon-toed or something of that nature but still tracks well when on the road. And is only an issue at almost full steering lock at slow speeds......

what tires do you have and what temps have you been having.

For instance with my Michelin SUMMER tires and cold temps - usually below freezing and the tires had been sitting overnite, when I reverse out of my parking space with the steering turned sharply the tires create a skip sensation. It's a common occurrence discussed here often.

They're run flats but I can't remember the brand. it's been a little bit colder here, I'm in Huntsville Alabama, as well and it seems to be a little worse when it's been raining which kind of makes sense. Good to know it's common, I've assumed it's because these tires are wider than other cars I've had.....

I'll need tires before too long and got some suggestions on another thread I started about that. The site has been helpful for that. I'm going to go with some non-run flats, I already have a small donut spare.....

Go to www.tirerack.com to see the reviews. My car has Michelin PSS and they're perfect for me.

This sort of issue can come from a failing ball joint. It may have nothing to do with the tires. Have a reputable shop put it up on a lift and they will be able to tell very quickly if that is the problem.
