Have "staggered" tires on my 228i M-Sport... can I get a "square" setup?
Hi everyone,
I have a 228i M-Sport and it came with a "staggered" setup. Just wanted to make sure I could get a "square" setup when I get new tires. I'm assuming the actual rim size is the same even with a "staggered" setup and it's just the tires that are different sizes, or am I mistaken? And if I do get a square setup, should I get all the tires in 225/40/18 (original front size) or in 245/35/18 (original rear size)? Thanks! |

Are you looking to be able to rotate if you had the same tire sizes? The wheels have different widths, so I'd suggest to keep the stock tire sizes as is for front and rears.

The M-sport has 7.5" wide front and 8" wide rear wheels. You could run a square 225/40/18 on all 4 wheels, but you still will not be able to rotate your tires. If you want to be able to rotate your tires, you will have to get 4 wheels that are all the same width.
If you want to keep your currently wheels, then I would recommend sticking with the staggered tire size. |
