Engine Check light w/ JB4 & Catless DP

Just installed my JB4 (map 1) and ER catless downpipe. First 50 or so miles i had no engine check light. When i was driving today it came up. I checked the code and it says its related to emissions. I understand that i should have that code because of the catless downpipe, but should the JB4 clear the engine check light? Any help would be appreciated.

So i should clear the code with the OBDII scanner and switch to map 2? Since I only have access to 91 octane would it be safe to run map 2?

If you have a stage 2 kit the JB4 software has the ability to clear codes in the software , or app !! Once cleared run map 2 then you shouldn't get a code Maybe try map 5 as a preferred option

Okay so I was able to hook my car up to my laptop. Made sure to use latest updates and firmware. I scanned my car using the JB4 interface by clicking on "Read DME codes," but it reads "No codes found." I tried contacting burger, but im getting the same feedback. Now I just bought my own OBD2 scanner to find out the actual code. So while i wait for it to arrive any inputs would be great.

Edit - actual code is P0420

Dude - unless you plan to use it often...take the scanner back. Any neighborhood auto parts store will read codes for you for free...autozone, etc.

The one i picked up is about $60. I won't be using it often, but it would be handy to have in my garage.

I'm running a catless downpipe so the light would be on if I do take it out. I contacted burger and they are stumped on why the light is still on. The car runs great. I can feel the differences switching between the maps.

@Milkee_0923 , Do you have the USB cable? If you don't, I suggest to get one to update the firmware, check your map and data log.

Problem is when I scan for codes through JB4 2 via usb cable, it does not find any. Yet there is a check engine line on dash. Started as soon as I installed the down pipe. I put latest firmware pwg 8b, tried pwg 8 as well.

Not recommended.

You just probably didn't have the auto clear turned on for the codes.

I don't have Bluetooth or obdi port upgrade. So reading at n54tech, latest firmware does not read codes on older jb4 2. So it is best to use positap firmware. I tired already.

If you are using the posi tap, then yes you should have the posi tap firmware ... Not sure why you had the OBD firmware from the first place when you did not have the OBD upgrade with the JB4
