Man weight reduction is the easiest and cheapest mod you can possibly do lol. If you really want to cut weight just take ALL the *%#+ out you don't need. It just comes down to how much less comfortable do you want to be.

Cutting weight out of my previous cars was always something I did. I won't get too crazy with the 235 though.
It depends on how far you're willing to go and how much $$ you're willing to spend. Some basic things with minimal impact to comfort: Carbon hood and trunk lid. Not sure of our OEM is aluminum. If so weight savings will be minimal. Lighter wheels Lighter tires trunk lining spare tire/flat kit rear seats lighter battery remove wiper fluid coilovers to replace OEM remove sound deadening remove speakers remove rear seat belts remove rear interior trim remove floor mats remove engine cover exhaust (or delete) downpipe replace seat(s) put yourself on a diet. Just a quick list of various things I've done to various cars. You would be surprised how quick the little things start adding up. I think with the right setup you could lose ~125lb - 150lbs out of the car with minimal impact to comfort/$$$ Honestly though unless you do road racing or autocross and are looking for a few extra tenths it's probably not worth it. |

Is this going to be a track car? If not it is not worth it to spend money on radical weight reduction

There are usually two decisions to make:
1 - Do I need it 2 - Am I willing to account for the financial damage I am doing to the car by modifying it It's easy to pull things out that are easily reinstalled. It's also easy to pull things out that might reduce weight but not be easily replaced or reinstalled if you decide to later sell the car. Scraping out sound deadening, stripping the interior to the bare minimum, cutting up plastic panels, etc. Things that weigh a lot: -Seats -Airbags -Carpet -Headliner -Sound deadening -Hood -Sunroof (If you have one) -AC -Door panels -Window Glass If you just want to start with stuff that pops out fairly easily. Seats/wheels/trunk liner are probably all easy ones. You can also start to pull off some of the panelling around the rear seat and trunk. The rest of the stuff mentioned (light battery) is also a good idea.
