Code Seats To Move Back...

I am trying to code to get seat to move back when engine is off and forward again when I start car....

I have a 2016 M235i got 2 weeks ago.

When I was trying to code below, :

SM2 -> 3000 SM_GLOBAL -> EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE = Modus_FA_SLV
SM2 -> 3012 EAH -> EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 28
SM2-> 3012 EAH -> EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 3C

I don't have Modus_FA_SLV as an option to choose

Modus_FA_SLV is one of the parameters when u click edit

2 other lines are not really necessary, it depends how far u want seat moved. I just used 1st line.

Try the other SM2 tree, the Modus_FA_SLV option only existed in one of the two SM2 trees when I coded by 2014 over the past weekend.

What do I need to right click to edit so I can find the word Modus ?

I tried both trees, could not find it.

Also keep in mind that if your driving position is too far back the default values won't work. There's a safety feature that won't let the chair go back too far.

That said, can someone translate what the movement settings are? I had to bump my driving position forward a tiny bit in order to get the defaults to work.

From what I understand from some other posts around the forum:

SM2 -> 3012 EAH -> EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 28 [this is the amount in mm the seat moves back]

SM2-> 3012 EAH -> EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 3C [This is the amount in mm from the back stop it allows the seat to move back; to leave room for the rear passenger]

You'll probably have to increase the EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS amount but also decrease the EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS value

***Someone else, that has changed these values, could confirm my suggestion as it is only a suggestion as it works on the default settings for me***

For me just changing:
3000 SM_GLOBAL -> EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE = Modus_FA_SLV
3012 EAH -> EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 3C

Worked perfect. With only the first change it did not work in my normal driving position (further back, I have long legs).

Out of curiosity, is it possible to code the side bolsters to open when the car is off and close up again when the car is on? I remember older bmws used to do this.

Surprisingly, not all seat adjustments are saved to individual key profiles. I believe side bolsters is one of those that is not.

Doesn't this feature make it a bit tricky to start the car? If you're too far back, holding the brake can get tricky...

Not at all for me, you definitely feel further back but I can still reach all the controls fine. Its not THAT much of a difference.

If you close the door and press the start button the seat will move forward. I always put my car into sport+ before I start the car, so it's just part of my "launch sequence".

Not if you are 6'2" and you actually like to sit close with back vertical. There is more room for easy entry/exit, but then slides forward.

I've definitely got that problem. I have to hold on to the steering wheel and push the brake, which sometimes messes up the seat trying to move forward. I then have to push the side button to get it in my position. I know you can have it not go back so far but unless I see the exact steps for bimmercode.
