cannot use accessory - iphone music playing error
Iphone connected via charging cable to the usb socket.
Car recognises phone, finds music, plays music, then after about a minute stops playing music and on my phone i have this message: ! Cannot Use Accessory Only one accessory can be used at a time. And thats it. Is this to do with having bluetooth for my phone and having it plugged in? Anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to play music from my phone with it plugged in, while still having it connected on bluetooth for phone calls? |

Once I got the 30 pin to lightening adapter, that's exactly how mine works.
I have the iPhone 5, plugged into the USB slot via the BMW - supplied Y cable, with the 30 pin to lightening adapter actually connected to my phone. My phone plays music through iTunes and I can answer calls via Bluetooth (just did it this morning, so I know for sure it works that way). with that being said, iDrive does get "confused" sometimes in the music function - there are times when it turns off the random playback for no reason, and times that the newly selected song doesn't appear in the screen right away. I would try doing a reset on the iphone (holding the home and top button down at the same time for 10 seconds) and then reconnecting. Maybe that will help...

Also, I believe the Y connector enables access to both the USB and "aux-in" ports simultaneously. In what scenario would that be required? My iPod is connected to the USB port alone and seems to be working well. (Can any of the above be explained by the fact that I have the "Enhanced USB" feature of the Technology Package?) Thanks in advance. |
