Well, I could have ordered a 228xi with AW/ Coral Red and 17" wheels (no 18s for me in SE MI). Oh well.

If I knew I would have waited and just ordered a 2016 Cold weather + m performance exhaust and saved 2k and not order a 2015 with the above and premium+alarm. I thought they were going to make the stupid backup camera mandatory. Oh well.

It will be "mandatory" in 2018. However, like every other manufacturer, it should actually be STANDARD. Btw, the driver's assistance package is well worth it and like a standard radio, something I use every day. If anything, I wish it had the bird's eye camera like the 4 series has. (of course I also wish they would finally put in HUD in there as an option, but alas, not yet).

Its not that BMW is choosing not to offer it..The 2'er dash is too small for HUD...Unless there is some new generation hardware or the dash is re-configured, HUD won't physically fit in a 2.

This is absolutely not true. There is pretty much absolutely nothing underneath the nacelle/behind the gauges, and as anyone who's installed a P3 gauge can tell you, there are heaps of open spaces between the dash and the bulkhead on the driver's side.

Space is not the reason A HUD isn't offered; economics is.

I suspect you are likely correct. We have the HUD in our X5 and have noticed that the "take" rate seems to be very low, and even more so in the 3 series. Probably the same reason the "blind spot warning" option is not offered on the 2.

My sales dudette forwarded this to me this morning.

Interesting - overall, this worked out really well for me. I want to pickup in Munich on 8/21, so had to wait for the 2016s to finalize my M235i order. Looks to be ~$1000 cheaper if I can live without auto highbeams, as I was going to order the Premium Pkg and alarm. If I switch to Oyster Sensatec (which I am inclined to do), it becomes ~$2500 cheaper. But to get the auto high beams I add back in $700 for the Driver Assistance Plus pkg. I'm really interested in coding in the added functionality that we don't get in the states that requires auto highbeams.

Hmm, the Enhanced BT and Smartphone integration got $150 cheaper - but is that still only for iPhones?

And nowhere do I see mention of the awful silver mirror covers for the M235i. Pretty sure they were called out under standard features before.

Decisions, decisions. But glad I can get this finally nailed down!

Looking at the 2016 guides, it looks like they have changed the engine in the 228 convertible from an N20 engine to SULEV N26 engine. Does anyone have a concern about this change?

Just for clarity:
SULEV (N26) = Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle
ULEV (N20)= Ultra Low Emission Vehicle

Same Engine! just with stainless bits for fuel and a different wastegate from what I recall. The N26 also is slightly more restricted too, And not many mods are available for it

17+sports seats

17" tires with sports seats. That's a big win for me right there. I'd go 16" if they offered them; just so tired of crappy roads and narrow sidewalls. But the prior lack of a sport seat stand-alone option meant 18" had to come along for the ride. This change makes me happy.

Checking the 2016 price guide there is a new Upholstery Option:

KCCX Sensatec Oyster/Black (last years was KCDH Sensatec Oyster)

Does this mean that the new version of Oyster will come with Black carpeting???

Being from the snowbelt, it would be great to have the lighter colored seats with the darker carpet to hide the winter grim. What do you guys think?

Follow-up: I checked the Vert 2015 buying guide and they also list Oyster/Black and it does indeed have black carpet and seat base plastics. Also for 2016 it looks to be available for M Sport where before only black interior SensaTec could be ordered.

I noticed that also and wondered the same thing. I think it will mean, at least, black carpeting. What I'm hoping is that we get a two-tone seat: black with oyster inserts.

Whatever it turns out to be - offering some contrast from single color-matched interiors is a step in the right direction. Even the contrast stitching on some of the leather options makes it seem a little more special.

I'm assuming that it will look just like the Oyster/Black leather interior, and it is what I am ordering (at least if I don't change my mind before the deadline). Though I actually like the all Oyster as you could get on a base 228i. I would just get black mats.

Wish they would get the online configurator updated! I want to SEE these things, especially the dark wheel option.

You can add as an accessory. This picture is from the new 2 convertible accessory brochure.

Agreed that it's not close. That said, it's better than nothing. The accessories page says to ask the dealer for the price. Curious how much that would be. In fact, I wonder if I got it, whether I could take it out of my present car and then put it into my next Bimmer.

Some interesting changes ... the Alarm, Comfort Access, and Garage Door Opener are now standard on the M235, and Sport Line has been discontinued -- possibly representing the base car now. M Sport on the 228i is now $500 cheaper, and the Tech Package and THP are slightly cheaper, too. Nav is NOT standard.

That's all I noticed on a quick scan ... everyone else: Go!
Mike, can you please post the 2016 pricing guide?

I've lost the PDF and now I can't find the pricing guide on the forum, I keep getting into a loop that keeps taking me back to this thread.

Even a post in this thread says the pricing guide is in the "sub forum" on 2016 pricing, but when I go there it comes right back to this thread with just the ordering guide.

I know I saw the pricing guide but I think I've lost my mind as I can't find the pricing guide!
Please help me.

You don't get the increased top speed limit with the 17" wheels, though, right?

But, I agree that having the sport seats as standard is freakin' awesome. That opens up some interesting possibilities if, like me, you're thinking of loading up on M Performance parts.
