Light Failure Question
I think this is the right forum, I wouldn't want to put this in lighting because I would consider this an electronics issue. But
Today (at 37000 miles) on my 2017 M240i, the headlights just cut out (the xenons turned off and switched to the LED running lights) and the car flipped out and said lighting system failure, and then the lights came back on and the error cleared. I thought this would be a 1 time issue, and thought nothing of it. It happened 14 more times on the drive (it was a 25 minute drive) Anyone have any thoughts? |

Both headlights? Not just one? Most common suggestion is probably the wire. Either damaged or the connection came loose somewhere. You're still under warranty as far as I understand so I'd just take it to the dealer and let them deal with it

status update:
my car spent monday through friday at the dealer. They found like 15 different faults. Warranty ended up replacing both headlight modules, and FEM ECU. So far, so good (fingers crossed this doesn't happen again).. This obviously ended up updating all my ECUs so I had to redo a bunch of coding I had done, so hopefully nothing dies again. |
