2018 BMW m240i steering feels odd

So test drove a 2018 BMW m240i and anything over 70mph it the steering felt odd and I felt like it was super floaty and wiggly at speed. It only had 12,000 miles on it but even the sales associate agreed something was off but I was looking up the reviews and many people are complaining about it.

Basically felt like the alignment was out or something wrong with the tires , the car felt very float at above 70mph and basically had no steering input after that speed.

I also have a e90 335i which is rock solid and also have a 340i , both feel like they are on rails .

Something must be wrong with it. Took my 2018 M240i on track at speeds well over 100mph and it was dead-on and very confidence inspiring at those speeds. Don't buy that one until they fix it.

People generally complain about lack of steering feedback, but it shouldn't feel concerning like you describe.

My new 2019 M240i xdrive coupe feels exactly how you described and several reviews mention it. They bring it up at the 2:30 mark on this one.

To me, the steering feels much better and less floaty in Sport, Sport+. I find Eco Pro especially and to some extent comfort mode too floaty at high way speed.
