I disagree. The paint should be at least two months old before you wax it.
Most dealers will put some type of sealant on it during dealer prep. |

The reality is you can wait until water stops beading up, but most of us don't wait that long. |

If you take any of the badges off you should wax that area afterwards for sure.

With the new water based paints BMW use... after a month or two of the build date(check your build plate for month/year) - its fine to wax or use a paint sealant.

Most cars, even BMWs, come lightly swirled/marred at delivery. Even if the dealer put a high quality sealant or wax on the car, it is highly unlikely they did anything about the paint surface. The best thing you can do for the appearance of your car is a light paint correction to remove micro-marring once the paint is fully cured (30 days after production should be good). It will make a big difference in the appearance. You can then apply whatever paint protection you like. After that, only hand wash yourself with microfiber towels and don't ever let the dealer wash the car unless you want new swirls and micro-marring.

Wow!
Amazing how a simple question can get hijacked
As soon as you feel like it. Wax it until your heart's content. I wax my car once every two weeks religiously. I use Poorboy's World Black Hole over the entire car, then I go over it again with Poorboy's World Natty's Red Paste Wax . No swirl marks at all! Super glossy shine that lasts for weeks. |
