H&R Springs M235i
So I ordered some H&R Springs from Extreme Powerhouse (good deal going on) for my M235i.
I'm less interested in the drop as I am about better body control (although a drop would look nice). Everyone who has gotten the H&R Springs (on any BMW), what is your opinion on them? Good product? Drop not too severe? Does it lessen the "bounciness" of the ride? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank you! |

I had H&R springs on my e36 M3 and e46 330ci. They do a lot of R&D into their products on the cars themselves and prioritize ride and performance. High quality products.

I don't think there's much of a performance increase, its more about the looks IMO.
It rides pretty similar to OEM, which I think was their intent |

These are all good things. I like the ride and don't want to mess it up (stiff but compliant) but I could do with less secondary motions of the car, which it seems like it might help with.
Thanks everyone. |

You hit any good pot holes with the car lowered on those H&R's... We have a shit ton of potholes in the North East.. I wanted to lower with these springs and do 19's, but now i am second guessing that for sure

technically if you touch the suspension (any component) you should get an alignment, at-least have it checked to see if it is still in spec otherwise you risk uneven tire wear!

That, and I had a pretty aggressive setup as is (too aggressive, I was losing my tail on the track too much), so I figured two birds with one stone anyway. I'm thinking 2.00 F, 1.8 R, 1/16 toe in, but I'll see what the experts say.

Liquid - you have camber plates though, correct? Looking forward to pics! I'm about to put HRs on mine, and later camber plates if the track starts taking too much of a toll on tires.

Hey, does anyone know when H&R is going to come out with their sway bars for the M235i? Depending on how much I like their springs, I might want to pair up the sways as well. |

I have H&R sport springs on my F30 328i. Overall they are a good product but I wont be putting them on my M235i.
The ride with the H&R's is almost exactly the same as stock. The look is MUCH better than stock. I can't say that my car handles better with them but it doesn't handle worse.... more or less the same. My issue with the springs is probably not the fault of H&R, it the fact that the dampers on the car and the springs have to be compatible. They have to work together. The H&R springs and the stock BMW shocks don't like each other. Specifically when going over bumps or dips, the car "crashes" through them in a way that upsets the car. That is my only issue. That didn't happen with the OE springs. Many people (including me) use aftermarket springs to lower their cars because it's very inexpensive compared to coilovers. Now I know the reason why. |
