BMW Floating Wheel Caps

Got a set installed while the car was in for a service last week:

They seem to work as advertised. Nice to have the roundels centered all the time but I'm not sure anyone's going to notice, except me!

Here's a BMW dealer video:

My guess is that people are going to be equally divided between 'WTF is the point?' and 'I want these!'

Perhaps a poll is in order.

Some of the E46 ZHP guys are horny for these, but I believe the wheel hub diameter or depth is different, requiring some mods. Nice to see these work for the F22, if I run out of other things it needs! Are they weighted enough to not spin when driving?

Yes, on a real road surface, at speed, they will wobble a bit thanks to the suspension movement, compared to the rolling-road video. But as far as I can see thy do stay pretty stationary most of the time. And I doubt many people are looking at my hubs on the freeway - it's more so they all settle in the same orientation when I park. I actually did have a crisis of conscience over whether £75 ($94) was better spent on a deserving charity than on a feature almost no one will notice. But in the end venal self-absorption won ....

There are two sizes of 'Floating Centre Caps'

56 mm - 'For BMW alloy rims with 112 mm wheel bolt circle'
65 mm - 'For BMW alloy rims with 120 mm wheel bolt circle' UK Part No. [36 12 2 455 269]*

(*[as fitted to my F23 M235i Convertible 2016 standard '18" light alloy wheels Double-spoke 436M' in the photo' above)

The UK Accessories page says they should be installed by the dealer, albeit that in my case fitting was included in the price. You can get them a bit cheaper form Amazon etc. but even if they conform to the above spec' there are various BMW wheels they still won't fit, so for the sake of saving £5 ($6) or so, I let the dealer do it and handle any issues.
