Question Convertible undercarriage wash

Quick question that didn’t occur to me until I bought a convertible. How do you guys clean the undercarriage of the car? Automated no touch car washes don’t seem to be a good option for the soft top. We got a light dusting of snow the other day and the local DPW dumped more salt on the roads that I’ve ever seen in November. I wasn’t quite ready to put the car away for the winter yet. I don’t want to leave corrosive salt on the undercarriage if I pick some up on my next drive. Thoughts?

Pressure washer or lawn sprinklers work.

I like the sprinkler idea. I’d imagine it would be difficult to get under there with a pressure washer without lifting the car somehow. Thanks for the thoughts.

Something like this could work as well if you have a pressure washer with the correct fitting.

Had a neighbor with a jeep that would clean off all the mud from under the car with something similar

That’s awesome. I had no idea such a product existed. I’ll definitely look into that or something similar. Thank you!

The manual in my ‘15 recommends a soft cloth wash as being safe (agree don’t do touchless as you pointed out). I usually take my car to the do it yourself spray in the winter but a few times I’ll do a soft cloth wash from a reputable place to make sure the undercarriage is taken care of and its worked so far for me.

I've had 3 convertibles over the course of about 15 years, 2 BMW's 1 Porsche and I've never had a brushless wash EVER damage a top.

Seriously, go get one, with an underbody spray,

There is an attachment you can buy for a preassure washer, which looks like a broom on wheels, you roll it under the car and it sprays water underneath

BUT honestly, just take it to a touchless.

I've even used a carwash with brushes, not recommended but once in a while no problems. Micro scratches, MEH, a I said in 15 years I've used car washed both brush and brushless with no problems

BMW's are pretty good when I comes to car washes
