M235i transfer case failure.
Well it happened to me. Stock 50k miles 8spd auto. First thought it was a missfire, that was ruled out and deemed to be the transfer case. Symptoms were a jerking sensation under wot and load. My question is what commonly fails on the BMW transfer cases? Is it the clutch pack or just the actuator? Any help would be appreciated as I'm just a curious bugger.

We have a couple threads with good info in the F3x diesel section (as our cars fail the most).

you running staggered wheel setup? If so, that's probably what caused it. I learned the same lesson on my old is350.

The data we collected on F3x transfer case failures doesn't support this claim (if using tire ODs within xDrive spec).

Square setup. Going to put it up this weekend and see if it's the actuator or something else. Doing a fluid swap either way and resetting adaptations. Say a prayer for me lol....

Did this fix it for you? I was having the exact same issues, I did a fluid swap and it went away. So far its been fine but it has only been 5 days....
