Post Bootmod3 / N20 ?

I have F22 220i N20
Active Autowerke exhaust
Evolution Racewerk intercooler

Now I'm thinking about the chip tuning. I am not looking for very agressive +XYZ hp tune, just a smooth gains, stock alike performance. Should I go with BM3 flash? Other options are JB stage 1, DTE Systems chip, Steinbauer chip.

Another question is octane maps for BM3. Now I use different types of petrol 95, 95+, 98 (Europe) - does it mean BM3 Stage1 91 Octane is the best for me?

Thanks in advance guys!

Stage 1 with BM3 will work with all the octane above 91 ... To get the most power you need to use the specified map with the correct octane.

You can pay extra and get access to all BM3 maps so you can switch whenever you run a different octane

I have a stock N20 220i. I have the BM3 map optimised for 98 RON fuel (same as European). The car is fantastic to drive. Smooth progressive power. The upgrade procedure is easy. Crackle and pop can be adjusted on your computer if you desire. I highly recommend it.

Many thanks! So it's better idea than ecu/dme reprogramming to 228i in your opinion? I think the best for me is BM3 optimised for 95 RON fuel, but what will be my probable hp/trq gains at stage 1? Also, is it possible to use smartphone instead of computer?

I am not sure how the BM3 tune compares to the 228i tune but it is probably similar. Boost on stage 1 91 and 93(98 RON) maps are both 1.25bar or 18.1psi. I think that the 228i runs that boost from the factory. On the revamped sport display on the iDrive, power was, from memory, around 190kw after the tune. For me it was easier to upgrade the car from home rather than having to send my ECU away for a 228i tune. The programming can be done on a Mac or Windows computer, but not on a smartphone.

Great, glad to hear, then performance of the car should be similar to 228i. Thank you for your reply. So mobile app is for diagnostic only or you don't use it at all?
And the last question is about coding - no problems with coded options? (I disable start/stop, for example, and fog lights, etc.)

No problem with coded options. I am using a cable that I already from a few years ago used for coding vehicle settings so I only purchased the software/tune. I cannot use it with a smartphone. I forgot about the wifi option that is available for smartphones.

Thank you for your help mate. I found an official dealer near me, they said that they can assist with everything, so even no own laptop needed (I hope so). Now upgrading my front brakes to performance and then I hope to tune the car finally.
