Will 2016 M235i MPE fit 2017 230i (pre-LCI)

Anyone have some information? Called BMW parts but they just fed me the "part numbers don't match" answer. I also know a new diffuser would be required.

I expect a small diameter difference which isn't a concern. Looking for overall fitment insight.

It should fit, as it fits 228i, so you'll have m235/m240 look at the end. But if you're looking for better sound from 4cyl engine there are few aftermarket exhausts you should also consider, in my opinion.

On my 230i LCI I have mounted the 240i MPe exhaust plug&play (both diameters 80 mm).
Also the 235i MPe has diameter of 80 mm, you should have your 75 mm and therefore the need for a small adapter.

Update for anyone looking for the same information:

The M Performance Exhaust (MPE) from a 2016 235i required some modification in order to mount into my 2017 230i. The elbow coming off the muffler did not line up well with the stock midpipe and required a bridging piece of pipe to be welded between them.

Looks and sounds great!

Considering same things on my 2017 230i
How difficult was that?
Is it possible to be done with clamp only or should be welded?

Do you have any pictures of that?

It took a bit of effort, about two hours. They had to create a bridge-type piece of 3" pipe to connect from midpipe to muffler since the M235i's muffler has a slightly different bend.

Clamp was not going to work in this scenario, had to weld. Absolutely worth it.

Just ran down and took some pics for you. The bridge pipe was expanded to 3" in order to sleeve over the midpipe and muffler end.

Thank you for your effort.
I don’t know where you live but I wanna know how much you paid for installation. Just to get rough idea.

I might be going with 240i m performance exhaust because I wanna do it myself.

I paid $100 in SoCal

If you're looking to do it yourself, definitely get the 240i variant. Without the weld, everything else lines up for a simple bolt-up install with the clamp.

Considering to install mpe same as you.
What kind of clamp did you use?
If you have a link, please let me know.

Thanks
