Dinan Flash Tune

There is a Dinan advert in the latest issue of the BMW CCA magazine Roundel that says Dinan flash tunes return for F8x, M2, M3, M4 in Q1/2019 with the remainder of the current line-up to follow thereafter.

Dinan_Engineering Any word on when F22/B58 will be available? How will you handle Stage 1 piggyback conversions?

I haven't seen that article in the magazine yet, so thanks for the heads up.
I would also like to know the answers to these questions.

I asked Dinan_Engineering a few months ago, I think in Nov, about B58 flash tunes and they said Q2

B series motor flash tunes come Q2 seems like a reasonable timetable. The M2/M3/M4 are the ones that will first come out however (may be a few other surprise platforms at first release as well). The delivery mechanism is the biggest hurdle we are currently tackling.

As far as piggyback conversions-- nothing is completely set in stone but I can assure anyone that did/does the piggyback method first will not be left in the cold and an upgrade path will be provided for.

Dinan_Engineering That's good to hear.
Will they have the same factory match warranty as the DinanTronics Elite Piggyback? Or, will I have to keep my piggyback for that, and then switch to the flash tune after my factory warranty expires?

All speculation -- the only thing concrete is M2/M3/M4 coming out in Q1. The report of Q2 for B58 stuff, etc is feasible and is as good a guess as any.

This is great news and can't wait to upgrade the Dinan stage 1 piggyback tune I currently have on my M240i xdrive!

Curious if there will be a cost difference for the Stage 2 between those w/ a Stage 1 .v1 and a Stage 1 .v2 as there is a $200 difference between those items, or will there be a "set cost" (upgrade price) to Stage 2 regardless or which Stage 1 a person has?

Since you normally pay the difference in price between stage 1 & stage 2 to upgrade, I would hope those who started with the v1 but ended with the v2 would get credit for the more expensive purchase. My guess is if you started with a v2 you will end up paying $200 more to for stage 2.

LOL, that was exactly the purpose of my query. I bought the .v1 and will be getting a .v2 swap out. I would be rather "miffed" if I got the higher upgrade fee when purchasing the Stage 2.

BTW, how ya liking your Cayman? M240i seeing a lot more garage time now that you got it?

This past week I did a paint correction /paint sealant job and got the PPF and tint install done, so she is ready for service! The Goodyear F1s have a 45 deg F lower limit, so morning use is out of the question and limits possibilities. Though, I'm planning on getting a drive in this weekend as the weather should be good before our next cold spell.

Your Goodyears aren't going to suddenly careen you into a ditch at 44 degrees. Obviously, summer tires get squirrelly in colder temps, but I've driven on summer tires right down to low to mid 30's with no issue. Just need to exercise extra caution. Potential for cracking starts to happen in the 20's.

No, you are right, but repeated exposure causes the compounds in the summer tire to hardened, crack and then you lose chunks. Considering the MPSS limits are 20 deg F, there is a substantial difference and I don't want to put added stress on the tires if I don't have to.

Will this flash tuning also include the N55 motors?

Will it be a flash done at a Dinan/BMW store or is it something a customer can do themselves via an OBDII cable and laptop/device like the flash tunes from BootMod and MHD?
