Haha I'm originally from Honolulu but moved to Portland a decade ago. Back home I was in the Nissan fanboy club and would drift race at Campbell Industrial Park on Friday nights when it used to be a race track. My Sentra SE-R with an SR20DET motor swap, then my S13 240SX which also got the SR20DET swap too. Memories lol

Yeah haha this was back in the late 90's. I sure miss that S13 though, it was the ultimate drift car. I have been actively looking for an S13 or S14 in decent shape as a project car but no luck so far.

Not all bmws are like this, there are lucky ones out there, but I'm not gonna say that BMWs are like toyotas in reliability. The E90 is relatively good, its just some of the smaller things, or electronics like the Electric Water Pump or Valve Cover Gasket that seem to be the biggest issue, and 35i's usually tend to have expensive turbo replacements. There are some stupid designs to BMWs though, not every one is perfect, i remember the E46s were notorious for cooling issues, mine itself blew a head-gasket but that was after 200k miles thankfully and not earlier like some horror stories i've heard.
thats no good! I have this vision of being old and grey and cruising around in my e92=)

M vs MP but I personally think they both look awesome. F22 was definitely more agile to drive and if it could be had with DCT and S65, I'd be in that car.

My prior 235 and current E92.

I had an e92 335i (08) and it's was an absolute blast to own. I do miss is as the f22 isn't raw enough (yet).

My current fleet is an 04 E46 M3 and the 14 F22 m235i

I sold my e93 M3 for my 2017 M20xi. Living in MA where we can get some harsh winters has already been far more practical with proper winters plus AWD as opposed to RWD.

Only thing I really missed was that glorious naturally aspirated V8 (which I heard scream all the time in the convertible M3). For that reason I added a dinan midpipe and M performance exhaust. It’s a different exhaust note of course but so much more palatable as compared to stock. Otherwise the acceleration is excellent and size is comparable

Owned an e92 335i pre-LCI and I miss how spacious it was compared to my current 228i. Also the 335i felt a whole lot faster than my 228i but as many people have stated, the 228i does feel more balanced so driving back roads with it is a bit more confidence inspiring than my old 335i. Don't miss all the issues the n54 had (All gaskets, turbos and injectors lol).

After 20k craigslist visits I found my e92 so m235 will have to wait=)

2 owners and 20 k miles a 2010 with all the right goodies!!

So happy, laid down 2 k downpayment in 2 minutes=)

I of course skipped the dotz Wheels and Went with the m313 which are my 1st choice on any given day with the m225 as a Close second.

Never driven in Winter and I pick it up wednesday.

Modplans are

M Pedals
M diffuser painted in White
Spend 2 k on getting that HK soundsystem to sound like Bowers Wilkins
MPE Exhaust if I can find one.

Pete

Check the official interior dimensions (though they may be hard to find on an older model). You will be surprised at how small the difference is between the E92 and the F22, mostly in rear leg-room, which is not very relevant most of the time.
Having owned one some years ago, my feeling is that the E92 feels more spacious because it is quite a bit bigger on the outside.
Life is an illusion.

I had an 08 e92 335i, was a phenomenal car. Tuned and modded, it was a tonne of fun. But then I sold it and bought an e46 m3 instead. It's a great car but it always felt like something was missing. So I went and bought an f22 235i, and the feeling is back. The car is great, it's definitely not "raw" like the e92 or e46, but the car is phenomenal in its own way. You really can't compare it, but you will learn to appreciate it in a new way once you've driven it for a long period of time!

I had an E92 08 335i with 6 speed manual. I quickly fell in love with it, and then out of love with it. I was one of the unlucky owners that had too many issues with the N54 platform. When it was working right, it was such a great car, but I finally got a bit too tired of it having to have things fixed constantly.

I do notice some similarities with my M240Xi as far as the size, tight feel all around, but the M240 just feels much better balanced and refined. I guess a decade of engineering will have that effect on a car.
