I got an email from bmw with this guy:

Looks like a cup holder base with a removable Qi/battery gizmo. $189 seems steep.

I took a look at the picture closely too and I think you're right that's a pass through harness which is awesome. Being an instant gratification kind of person, I might just take the plunge and order it this weekend!

If you're looking for a cupholder solution, I MacGyver'd one that works pretty well and cost <$50. I'm looking at this because I want my cupholder back. Here's the post: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show...72&postcount=6

Seems like the pic worked.

So it's a cup holder slug with a stationary arm to an amazon magnetic Qi. Had to stick a metal ring on the phone for the magnet to grab, but it's under the case. Holds really well.

I received my wireless charger kit and needed to modify it to work but turned out looking really great. I'll be posting pictures and instructions in the diy section shortly. I'm very happy with the finished product!

Nice write up- does the charger fit a X3 as shown in the DIY and/or the 2 series with modification?
