Lately, now that I know how fuel-efficient the car is when driven gently, I've been using Comfort with the sport transmission settings, and Sport mode, more often. As I approach my steep bridge ramp in the afternoon, I've been flicking into Sport to let the car stretch its German legs, so to speak: up a short pitch, then around to the left and up a steeper pitch, then growling up as the ramp doubles back on itself and makes a long climb to join the bridge proper. By the time I'm at the top, the F30 is doing 50-55. If there's nobody jumping into my lane, I can just surge forward and do 60-65 almost until my exit.

That may not sound very exciting, but the bridge speed limit is 50, there's occasionally a cop sitting on the downstroke of the bridge looking for speeders, and the bridge road surface is not the smoothest. So I'm taking it relatively easy.

Still fun.

As soon as I get that clear bra installed in about ten days, it'll be time for some road tripping.

When I drive my wife's X3, I first push the engine start button, then press the sport button, then I start driving. Every time.

I would say most of the time when out driving rural Missouri: On. In town or traffic: Off. It is not about the remap on the throttle, but the remap on the steering.

Yeah, I hear ya....With my MPPSK installed, it's just more fun to slap it in sports mode and use my paddle shifters to hear the exhaust.

this is pretty much me exactly in my 228 on a daily basis.

we also have a '17 X3...and this is exactly how i drive it as well. comfort mode in the X3 is pretty lame.

i just leave the throttle in sport. switching back and forth messes up my clutch timing. if i put it back into comfort i'll bog it off the line. if i go from comfort to sport i give it too many revs off the line and look like an idiot.

sport+ is a bit too jerky around town and i have to feather the clutch more to smooth out the shifts. rather have the car rev match my upshifts and downshifts to save clutch wear.

When I'm in stop & go traffic, like the toll plaza & metering lights on the eastern entrance to the San Francisco Bay Bridge, I'll sometimes use Eco Pro with Sport transmission mode. The torque is softer but it stays in a lower gear for more engine braking.

I have it in sport plus stock to the left and manual mode. Sometimes a gap starts to form and I need to close it quick before someone jumps in front of me.

sports, all the time without kids and wife, comfort 50% of the time with kids and wife, sport plus, very rarely I suppose. It's a g30 540 not M3 in any case...

I hate the sport mode throttle boost most of the time. Far too much of a kick.

I usually run comfort and hit the M button if I see a chance for some fun.
