New '17 M240i on dealer lot - what's a fair price?

A local dealer has a brand new 2017 M240i convertible, so it's pre-LCI. From what I can tell it has the following options:

8-speed auto
Sensatec black
Technology package
Driver Assistance package
Driver Assistance Plus package
HK audio
Enhanced bluetooth
Apple CarPlay
Heated Front Seats
Wireless Charging

It's been sitting on the lot for over 600 days, but although original MSRP is $58k the asking price is still $50k.

It has some nice options with CarPlay and wireless charging, and from what people tell me the Dakota leather isn't a massive upgrade over Sensatec so if it's gonna be black that's not a huge deal. I'm seeing sub-20k mileage '17 CPO cars in the $32-36k range, so I'm wondering how much I can talk them down on the new one?

Even though it's a '17 it would still qualify for new car financing/lease rates, the full warranty, and the full maintenance plan, correct?

Lease support must have ended for 2017 models by now. So your best option is to purchase the car. (Or finance)

Sometimes dealers "punch" the cars so they look sold as a new car. Those cars' warranty period have already started.

You can ask the dealership if the car is "unpunched" and you can make an offer. They have to get very aggressive to sell a car that has sat over 600.

Good luck.

They offered $44k unprompted so I would guess I could negotiate it down even further. It's not "punched" (didn't know that term but I asked about it )

If you really like the color and options, offer them 40k and see what happens.

I agree with go for $40K. I got a new '19 with similar options that had been on the lot for 120 days for less than $44K. There were some incentives at the time though...
