I've been having issues in my 2017 230i. Wish I hadn't spent close to $1500 on the tune...

Reading the issue with the Dinan tune is saddening ! I thought about going the Dinan way (since my dealer is an Auth Dinan installer) but decided to went with the JB4 (had a positive experience on the N54 platform) and no regret so far ! If ever one of you want to change tune, get the JB4 for sure !

The unit and wiring harness are being replaced right now. From what I've read about issues with the b58 6cyls, the wiring harnesses have been shorting and they've resolved this.

Is this something they contacted you about to send you, or was it per your request? I haven't had any updates on my car, but haven't asked either. I am just curious if your new kit being sent is due to a finding with my car being in their shop for the last week. New module and harness didn't fix mine, hence why I took it to them to investigate further.

I honestly can't speculate as to that. The warranty guy was out on vacation last week and I sent it in like 2-3 weeks ago at their request.

Ah ok, so that's a maybe. You mailed it in around the time I had set a date to bring my car in. I dropped it off last week to have the tune checked out and also for development of some new things to come. It was actually your post that made me look into doing that! Worked out perfectly that they moved to Auburn since it's only 2 hours away from me. Also picked up the the springs and handling kit after seeing how much cleaner the ride height is on yours. Opted for the 240 exhaust though. I picked up a 240 mperf diffuser after seeing a mod that makes it look seem like a direct swap for the most part.

Quick question about the springs and the bump stops, is your car AWD or RWD? I want to lower my car but cant find a good set of springs that wont kill the shocks. I have an AWD 230i so just curious?

RWD, the Dinan springs are engineered to work with/not kill the standard shocks.

I took delivery of my replacement car today (since my last 230i was deemed total loss after a heads-on collision with a drunk driver) and had the Dinan freeflow exhaust fitted on this one. Everything is still being broken-in but so far the sound seem to be a lot better over the original exhaust.

Thanks for the review. That's a very nice-looking 230i. I especially like that you did not add the M Sport pkg and you kept the stock wheels. A couple questions if you don't mind: 1. Are you living with the stock steering wheel? 2. You said the Shockware made the biggest impact in feel. Does that imply that you had a chance to drive your car after Shockware install but prior to install of the springs and other suspension bits? Do you have an opinion about idea of installing Shockware into a 230i (w/THP) without doing the mechanical mods? Thanks!!

Thanks. I specifically ordered without the M sport because I wanted the brown and those wheels. I did have a chance to drive without the springs. In fact when I had it done the folks at Dinan said it would be more of an impact than the springs and this was true. I'd highly recommend it...by far the best coat-effective mod. Though it seems Dinan has since changed the engine tune to a simpler setup that develops even more power, so that's better too.

I've actually sold the car and moved on to my new M4. I will really miss that car...it was a tota blast...just not enough blast!

Curious how your tune is still holding up? When I took mine in they ended up replacing it with the V2 while they added another mod that should be released in the near future. I'm taking it back in later next month for the final fitment of the production product and reevaluating the V2 tune since it has some smoothness to work out at lower power inputs.

They replaced mine with the V1 which I never installed and sold as I sold the car. Did you get an intake or turbo upgrade?

Hi I have a 2017 230i Xdrive, I am looking to get lowering Springs and Bump Stops. Please advise what the model numbers are for what you installed. The Dinan site tells me the springs are not compatible with my Xdrive 230i. I cant get a clear answer anywhere. Please help.

I may be wrong but maybe the added weight of the all wheel drive system is to much for the springs. I know for sure if you have a convertible the added weight is to much for the coupe springs, but I am not to sure about x drive.
