But the only way to tell is to put a functioning motor board back in the unit and see if it burns up. If it doesn't, it was just the motor board that was bad. If it does, now you have to replace the main board AND the brand new motor board.

Im not keen on doing a nearly $500 experiment, so I soldered in a jumper wire to close the circuit and put it back in the washer. During the test, as soon as the relay clicked to send power to the motor a pretty blue flash illuminated the under side of the washer and was accompanied by a fairly loud pop. Lol

As it turns out, both boards needed to be replaced to fix the washer, total cost? $860 to repair a 6 year old washer that cost $600 new. Really?!?!
What brand is it? Those slave master combos are tricky to repair without fucking both up. An unbalance in either will affect both (yay circuits!)

Been running Miele at home. Current washer unit is 19 years old. Put another $800 into it over the past 2 years. Cost a pretty penny, but man does it run. Freaking has a diagnostic function like a car. Shits cray
GE. Figured out it cost me $1.44 per load of clothes to own the one that just crapped out.

New one is in, noting but a thang. The guys at the shop loading it up asked if I had help to unload and get it in the house. Pifft, I ain't need no help.

That's what you get for buying from home depot. Hope you learned your lesson.

They haven't given us problems in the past, but sticking with supply houses for things like this. Had workers coming in 2 days to redo front desk. HD calls and tells me they can't deliver until next week, even though I was told it would be there.

Interesting to put $800 into a 19 year old machine. I always enjoy seeing at what point do people just want new.

Assuming a new one is $4k-5k, I would have probably purchased a new one before putting $800 into the old one.

If the thing had completely died on me, it probably would've been replaced. But, this one still functioned, just wasn't draining completely and leaked a bit of water. Miele service is nice. Man came and diagnosed, ordered, and replaced a bad valve and pump.

New one would probably be $3k-$4k.

The brand.

Their vacuum cleaners make Dyson look like a Corolla in terms of cost.

Miele vacuums are sweet. I ended up going with a full kitchen too, based mostly around the dishwasher I wanted. Haha... ended up with the dishwasher, two ovens and a nice convection cooktop. I drew the line at their fridges though. Could not justify the price premium there, so went with a subzero. I have always loved subzeros... subzeroes..... don't know, since it is a proper noun and a compound word... conflicting rules...

Went LG in the laundry. Washer (and a pedestal washer underneath - pretty cool) and dryer.

Anyway, yes... Miele is the shit.
