Hey guys, for clarification

If you only do LCA, the wheel will not be centered & No custom spacers required.

Spacers only required for the Tension strut.

If you do the struts with the LCA & the spacers. the wheels is centered

is this correct?

Yep.

However, I found that a 1-1.5mm spacer (really, just a washer) helps the LCA fit better than without.

where do you put the washer for the LCA? in front or behind (push forward or move back) or is this just to reduce play?

in front of the LCA, but I don't think it matters, I just wanted it in the same place on both sides

TS's and Bimmerworld F80 bearing kit are going on this week for me. I already have the LCAs.

I think I read that an alignment is not needed after the TS install. Can someone confirm?

I would think that any suspension change would require alignment but maybe somebody more knowledgeable can comment

I can confirm that toe doesn't change enough to need an alignment if you're just adding TSes.

??

LCAs by themselves increase toe noticeably, putting TSes on top of LCAs had zero or near zero effect in my case

Ditto - my experience of retrofitting TS after having LCAs only is same as RWalkers.

I never evaluated the car with one or the other. Once both were on it was very clear toe in was an issue. I doubt it's due to model difference but then again the car had not been aligned for almost a year. Could bad alignment account for the difference?

If you did both at the same time, then it was the LCAs that drastically affected the toe, while TSes had negligible affect.

- informed BMW dealer with forum threads, pictures and possible troubles (xenon, spacer etc)

What did BMW do:
- placed LCA+TS
- ordered the spacers
- solved the xenon hight thing
- alignment

Results:
- more steeringfeel
- stiffer front
- 2degree camber on front
- big more caster

Difference between only mounting the LCA's
- less caster (less clearance issues later)
- bit more camber

Thanks for the info everyone and for listing the part numbers. Decided this is the way I'm going instead of camber plates.
Can anyone please share labour time to fit lca's and ts?

Going to get it done at the same time. Cheers

Hi. Do you guys know, whether a poly bushing for either m235i lower control arm (part No 31106857329/330) or M3 (part No 31122284529/530) exists?
I couldn't find one neither a Superpro nor a Powerflex. Only for tension strut arms.
I'm gathering parts for a massive upgrade of front and rear suspension and this is the only part I haven't found yet. Thank you for your help.

You won't need a poly bushing for the M3 LCA...it's got a nice spherical bearing in there, far better than poly for that type of joint.

You are right. I was hoping that there would be something available for the m235 LCA, keep my strut with a poly bushing and my wheel centered. Camber will be addressed with the Millway camber plates. Thank you.

You didn't look very hard.

Superpro camber adjustable bushes for F2x series - part no SPF4303K

http://www.superpro.com.au/find/supe...999501544/vid-

If doing LCA - I'd also suggest you do caster adjustable TS bushes to match - superpro part no. SPF4306K

http://www.superpro.com.au/find/supe...999501544/vid-

Likewise Powerflex now do LCA and TS bushes in both yellow [street/track]or black [race]
https://www.powerflex.co.uk/road-ser...s+-3304/1.html

LCA - either PFF5-1902 [fixed] or PFF5-1902G [camber adjustable]

TS either PFF5-1901 [fixed] or PFF5-1901G [caster adjustable]

Bee Pee,
Thank you for taking the time to search and offer suggestions.
Powerflex item PFF5-1901G fits and have actually order it, but item 1902G does NOT fit. It is made for lca No : 31126852991 ,where as M235i lca is part No:31106857329.
As far as Superpro AU, since the don't list series 2 , I have contacted them to confirm if items 4303k and 4306 fit m235i and their reply was : " I have forwarded your email below on to SuperPro Europe who will be in contact shortly".
I hesitate to buy something that may not fit, so I adressed to fellow members for their kind help.

The bushes are the same size for these LCAs - to verify before you buy trawl through Lemforder catalogue [sub-division of ZF and BMW oem supplier of majority of suspension & steering stock parts] and you find details of the LCA bushes.
