I am rocking the OEM recommended TS830P's and have been fairly impressed( i had low expectations, i got RFT's because my wife drives the car sometimes and it gets to cold in the winter here to be screwing around with a tow). Got stuck once (literally an ice rut that both rears were in and i couldn't bounce over from street parking). Which isn't really stuck imo. I got out of the car and the weight transfer of my wife getting into the drivers for me to "push" was enough for her to get out.

Just drove to work in pretty sloppy conditions ( got 7-8 cm overnight on top of the foot we have received over the last week) without a hiccup. The DSC is REALLY good at keeping the car straight. If they are on and you try to initiate a power slide in the snow. No dice. DTC is much more hoonable and DSC off mental.

So when should we turn off DSC (hit button once)..When you're stuck? We shouldnt be driving around in the snow with DSC off (DTC activated)?

I hit the button if i feel the traction control is robbing enough power that i am in danger of stopping. If already stopped i go through the steps of reversing, rocking, 1 button pressing repeat. 5 second press repeat.

1 Button press will still rob power when sensing slip but to a lesser degree. Sport plus is actually fairly useful so long as you are comfortable with the sharper throttle and minimal stability control.

Thanks for the side profile shot! If that's what the 17" SR's look like then I'm sold! I have this winter tire/wheel set up planned for my white M235xi as well. I was going to get the 18" rims but why spend the extra money? The 17's look good.

I am literally ordering a second set with a higher profile PSS summer tire to run in the warm months as we speak. Look better than stock, easier to clean, better quality wheel. I am sick of repairing the BMW wheels after every little bump with the low profile tires.

They come in 18s but the offset is 44. You may be better with BBS CS5s which come with a 42 offset and personal I think look better.

I have the 18" SRs as my winter set up and poke is very minimal. They are more or less flush and i think they actually give a better stance than stock.

Tyres are 225/40/18 Pilot Alpin 4s. Don't currently have any side profile shots though.

Do you have any picture of the rear brake clearance? I just got my new M235i xdrive and I tried the old 17x8 I had on my 135i. I can't stick a finger between the barrel and the caliper, and a headphone cable (3mm) barely makes it.

You can easily fit your finger between the caliper and the wheel on the 18" version of these. 17" clears the brakes front and rear fine too if thats of any indication. Those ones you've pictured just seem to have a narrow barrel for the size of wheel. But whether you clear by 3mm or 3cm, it doesn't matter as they aren't going to contact unless you wreck the wheel. Maybe get the balance weights mounted on the inside too if it helps peace of mind.

Is that the OEM 68mm wheel cap? Did you have to use a rubber mallet to get the cap to fit?

No I believe it's 56mm if memory serves but call BBs to confirm. eBay blank caps then metal stickers. Went back to BBS caps they didn't hold up as well as I would have liked. I don't believe BMW makes a cap that fits but you can find Alpina that does.

Bem, they look great and the color really compliments your car. I'm probably going to buy the lighter colored version of the same wheel. How do you like them? Did they feel heavier than the stock set-up when you changed them?

Love them. Forget what they weigh but they are lighter than the stock wheel. Hit a curb with one going maybe 30 roads were covered in snow. Blew the tire, wheel perfectly fine no bend or anything. They're tough as hell, can't recommend them strongly enough. If I do another 2 after my lease is up i'd get a different color and run one set in the summer and another in the winter.
