TPMS faults at 49%
I just picked up a set of BMW OEM M624 style wheels for my 2015 M235i. When I run the TPMS reset, the percentage complete runs up to 49% then stops and gives me a "TPMS Malfunction" warning. I've researched online and have discovered many possible causes from the tire pressure not being sufficient to active sensors to info regarding a change to the TPMS frequency in late 2014. Anyone else experienced a similar issue?

I have the same issue after having my tire guy put on winter tires on my rims.
So sensors are still the same but something got messed up. I did also buy new rims for my summer tire with new sensors which he programmed with a device based on first scanning the sensors on my OEM rims. Maybe he messed up the sensors by scanning them or damaged them while replacing tires, I dunno. Did you find out anything yet? |

A few more details. I took my 2er into Goodyear so they could test the sensors to ensure they were all functioning and all 433mhz (no charge for this test.) Results showed they were the correct frequency but only 2 of the sensors were reading. I ordered two new sensors from tirerack.com knowing the ones they sell are compatible with a '15 F22 (purchased my winter wheel/tire package from them last year.) Had an appointment this past Friday to have the two new sensors installed and they discovered a third sensor was no longer registering. Frustrated and done with screwing around, I ordered two additional sensors and plan to have them all replaced this week. Goodyear gave me a price of $119.00 per wheel for OEM sensors, installed. Tire rack is $54 per sensor (free shipping) + GY install of about $15 per wheel.

My sensors were ok. Dealer said it was a faulty valve stem on 1 wheel. Replaced the valve, after that everything was ok again. Was under warranty, so no charge. Hope you get yours fixed soon too. |

I just got a set of BMW OEM 436M wheels with MPSS tires and TPMS from a 2014 M235 but after the TPMS reset I keep getting an error saying there is a malfunction, dealer says sensors are OK but not compatible with my car, is that true?
Of course they wanted to sell me the correct ones for $600. |

Interestingly, although my car never gave any error message, when I reset my sensors the progress stops at exactly 49% for a longer while... A first sign of malfunction?

It is highly likely you're being told the truth. BMW did change the senors a few times in different series in the last 10 years. You can get them from tire rack way cheaper.

You don't need the $600 sensors. One of mine broke and I had it replace by discount tire for about $20ish.
I had the exact same TMPS malfunction. |

You can check what sensor is not functioning in the hidden menu. It will give you a CC code for the exact sensor.
Like this. You need to sum up your last numbers of your vin and thats your "code". PS: I am not that guy making the video btw, I just stole his nick sort of. |
